CovCath has a stacked Jr class. Maile, Isler, Nutini, Holocher, Darner, Sainola, Van Sant, and shover will have big seasons

IMO Newport will have one of their better teams. They've got a good Junior class and some good pitchers coming up with this group. They should be strong both with the outfield and infield.

I play football and say many Dixie games last season... They have alot of senior experience coming back with Nichols(P, IF), Johnson(CF), Dettmer(SS), Cahill(P, 1B), Bricking(RF). Also all the young guns that saw alot of varsity last season, the frosh Popham(C, SS), sophmore Lubrano(C, 1B, DH), and two lefty soph P Stansberry, and Smallwood. Smallwood, I believe, is playing for Walt Terrel's summer team.

What about Newcath? Noone is giving them any chances this year?

12 wins, 17 losses and 1 tie last year. Who is going to make them better?

After reading all these post noone is even talking about Newcath. I know last year was a down year but their JV team played extremely well and those players will be at the varsity level this year. Look for Newcath to be the sleeper in the 9th region

I saw them play a few times will agree that Newcath had a nice JV squad with some talent last year and should definitely be improved in 08.

Besides Highlands and Dixie...Is there any other sleeper teams to win or have a legitimate chance to be a contender?
