Well they are in for a very nice surprise. He will immediately elevate the level of that team. Even though he's only a sophomore, I would rank him as one of the best, if not the best, SS in NKY.

 

Bellevue should be pretty good this year, so that would only help them if the kid is as good as you say.

With Bob Bieger now down at Ludlow I look for the Panthers to possibly break thru to the Top 10 in the 9th and knock off a few that some didn't expect. Ludlow has 2 or 3 kids who can pitch and have the nucleus of a decent team back from last year. Under Biegers direction I expect to see a very disciplined and fundamentally sound team on the file for Ludlow..

I was talking to a Bellevue Baseball coach yesterday and he informed me that Hunter Jones is not coming out for baseball because he got in trouble for something at his previous school. And that Ricky Buckler will not play this season either due to a shoulder surgery.

Wow. I'm sure that's a disappointment to the Bellevue coaches and the Midland coaches as well, as I'm sure they hate to see a kid not play any baseball all Spring long heading into the summer season.

For all the people who think Beechwood doesn't have any experience... that whole lineup started last year at some spot. They lost one Senior who was there right fielder and he switched with Stephen Hadden. It Should be fun to watch what a great 1A team can do. Watch they will suprise you

No most definitly not. I talked to Rick Buckler the father and he's the one who informed me both would not be playing. Ricky Buckler just had surgery the other day on his shoulder and wont be doing any sports until football season.

1a. Beechwood- Having 8 starters returning with a full season of experience really helps. This team will rely on pitching and defense. When it comes down to a big game in the 9th region i dont see anybody being able to beat Elliott when he is on the mound.

1b. Cov Cath- They have a great junior class this year, there only problem may be senior leadership. You see alot of succesful teams have great senior leadership; this team doesnt have that. Cov cath will be typical cov cath with solid defense and making the typical plays that give them a chance to win against anybody.

2. Highlands- Kind of a bold prediction here but i think the bird will have a very good season with Senior pitcher Thomas Towells on the mound who throws 84-87mph consistantly, they should be tough to beat.

3. Ryle- There has been a lot of hype about this team, and i think many people have them better than they really are. They lose around 12 seniors from last years team and i believe 8 starters? There JV program has been successful, but lets be realistic here. JV baseball is nothing like varsity baseball.

Really? A top-notch JV program doesn't translate into some measure of success at the varsity level? Most kids don't just jump into varsity level ball without playing at the JV level unless you are at a small school (or a Maile or Farris type player). Ryle had 5-6 players on their JV team last season that would have started on just about any varsity team in NKY. They were kept at that level to ensure they would receive meaningful playing time rather than sit on the bench behind Ryle's upperclassmen. Ryle will have plenty of talent replacing the players they graduated from last year's team and will make a strong push to repeat as regional champs.
