He does have that football player look about him though! He'll play again, by this time next year, that broken leg will feel like a distant memory!

This weekend he'll be an honorary captain and go out on the field for the coin toss. Also found out that, the day he got hurt, his team was supposed to get their team picture taken. They decided not to get it taken until Garret could be in the picture.

 

Nearly the entire team has been over, and his cast is almost out of real estate. I told him we'd have to hang him upside-down so people could sign on his foot.

BF I hope he recovers quickly and in the right mindset. This could be one of those deals like getting hit in the chops with a baseball during coach pitch on a cold February day at practice. His psyche needs to be restored along with his health and I hope for the best.

Hope he's alright BF.. I figured that he'd want to get back into the football thing after a couple of days.

I am sending a special package to Garret this weekend. I hope he is feeling better and is ready to get back on the field and lead his team.

Ram - What you're doing for Garret is very special and very much appreciated! I've always said that BGP was a special place. This just goes to prove it.

 

Since I'm here, I'll give a little update. Garret's temp has been staying down, but he still feels pretty lousy. I think part of that is the newness of the cast wearing off and the realization of bothersome days ahead. He may go back to school this week. We'll see how it goes.

 

Btw, the folks from Gallatin County stopped by again with a really nice get well gift. Great people!

 

If you'll indulge me, I'll stop in here from time to time to let you know how things are going. Thanks again everyone.

Wait until you see it, I have to say that I am impressed with it myself. I hope he likes it and I hope it makes him feel a little better. I feel like I am his adopted uncle. I just want the little guy to feel better and be excited about football again.

That would be super, Get all the parents who have cameras to let you borrow to make a really good hightlight film. The school where my grandson goes to school makes one after the season is over music and all. He would really enjoy .:D

Just get the little guy well . One of my sons broke his arm in football practice and tore his shoulder in a game. The other son has had 5 broken bones, a broken leg in baseball.

 

 

Both boys had to have operations on some of their broken bones.

Their dad has had a few too. Daughter has none and neither have I.:thumb:

The son went on to play college football., the other went on to play college baseball.

The football injury happened at 10 , the basebll at 11.

Garrett it will get better.

BirdsFan -- my prayers are with your nephew. In fact, Newport School had a game down there about a week ago - I attended it to watch some kids play I've known for quite -- but anyway I over heard some of the WV people talking about it and I can assure you they are concern for your nephew and I'm sure their prayers are there too.
