You've probably heard me talk about my nephew who plays Pee wee football in the Walton league. I just got a call from my folks and the paramedics are taking him to Children's Hospital. He has a compound fracture of his lower leg.

 

He's the sweetest kid in the world. It really hurts so much because he wasn't sure if he even wanted to play football. Once he started playing, he was great at it and loved it. Now I dont care if he plays. I just want him to be okay.

 

It feels really powerless to be here by yourself and not able to help.

Birdsfan, sorry to hear about your nephew but I'm sure that he's in good hands at Children's. Thoughts and prayers to you & your nephew. May his recovery time be speedy. Keep us updated.

Right now he's telling his dad that he doesn't want to play anymore. They only had another game or two anyway. But hopefully, he'll reconsider with the passing of some time. But that's the least of importance right now. We just need to get him through this surgery and back to himself again.

 

Garret and his sister were just with us Friday night at the Highlands game. He was all excited because he got to stand next to Chris Collinsworth. He really has gotten into football, and I hope he gets to continue.
