Kirk Herbsteit calls Andre Woodson.....

Featured Replies

Most major college QB's can throw it deep, but can they get it near anyone?? I've not seen Woodson throw it deep with any accuracy against anyone decent?? He had multiple opportunities tonight to scramble and "make something out of nothing" but didn't--A Heisman hopeful should make those plays????

Did you watch at all last year?

Well we saw what happened when Andre faced a team that actually had a defense worth recognizing...I'd say more of the same can be expected the next two weeks, at least.

That wasn't typical Andre Woodson football. I think (hope?) he'll recover. The Cats killed themselves all over the field.

Mainly Woodson KILLED UK all over the field. Horrible passing! I still think he's a good QB, but not better than Brohm. I never thought he was.

We'll see how he rebounds the next two games. Will he step up to the pressure or fold?

Yep, ... it is still a one man game!

His passing was overall pretty good (save the pick), it was the 2 fumbles (one on a hard hit but he should have protected better, but the 2nd lateral was a bad mistake).

BTW, that was the #1 pass defense in the country right now and he still put up some pretty good numbers (better than anyone else has with them only giving up 106 ypg passing). And since you brought him into this, the SC defense is obviously better than anyone that Brohm has faced this season.

 No one told him to throw the ball up for grabs twice (1 lateral, 1 pick) and no secure the ball when he knew he was getting ready to get hit. He tried to win the game by himself and it backfired. His passing was average at best. He missed open recievers all night and threw bad passes. He was clearly rattled. Can't protect better if the QB holds the ball for 5 seconds. Woodson took a trip back in time last night. Back to his sophmore year where he held the ball to long and tried to force passes.

He should watch last nights game up until kickoff of the LSU game. Good QB, horrible decisions.

And he's normally a tough guy to rattle. I'm pretty sure the staff has been trying to get him to throw the ball away more. Maybe they should back off.

Here is the thing. He definitly made some mistakes. I wouldn't say he was "rattled." On this night he just made 3 bad mistakes. The lateral was a tough play, that I could see almost any QB doing, seeing someone to throw to like that as he is going down. The pick was bad, but its only his 2nd pick of the year. That is going to happen from time to time. I thought Little's 2 fumbles were huge as well. Also the holding penalties were killers too. The defense played good enough for UK to win the game. But the mistakes killed UK.

Andre made mistakes, but it wasn't all Andre.

This are very unfair comments about a player who has improved by leaps and bounds in the last several years.

If you played the game, did you ever have a bad game? It happens to everyone, even the great ones.

Why? His performance last night was similar to Brohm against Rutgers last year. Can you a show me a QB at any level in the history of football whose performance doesn't dip when they get consistently pressured?

This game doesn't change my opinion on Woodson and Brohm. Regardless of who is better in college, Woodson is the better pro prospect and he'll be drafted higher.

Rutgers last year. So you are basically saying Brohm is a year ahead. Heisman talk was not for Dre'. NFL draft yes, but not heisman. The guy forced things, especially in the redzone, which severely hurt uk's chances. By the way, Brohm is the best QB and will get drafted higher.

You're right. Not all Andre, but a great, and I mean great portion. Holding penalties were killers. Missing wide open recievers kills everyone. Those are easy scores. Missed his main man Burton 2 or 3 times.
