Kirk Herbsteit calls Andre Woodson.....

Why? His performance last night was similar to Brohm against Rutgers last year. Can you a show me a QB at any level in the history of football whose performance doesn't dip when they get consistently pressured?

This game doesn't change my opinion on Woodson and Brohm. Regardless of who is better in college, Woodson is the better pro prospect and he'll be drafted higher.

Absolutely correct - good post again 5wide.

Brohm is great, oh when the Ville is down by 21 and he is facing prevent defense. Look at his stats and see when the Ville is scoring. He is a good prospect but needs to be in the game all the time. Louisville is falling behind and teams begin to play alot of zone and stop blitzing as much. But he can sure pick apart a zone and his accuracy is special. Definately top 5 QB

I feel certain that Herbstreit has revised his opinion. The "Big Blue Bubble" burst on Thursday night and reality should have set in. If not, give it a couple more weeks. Look for another lower second to third rate bowl appearance at best.

Woodson doesn't have the best stats in the country but he is still one of the best QB's in the nation, for sure. Harrell and Brohm have the better numbers but they also have 267 and 259 passing attempts while Woodson has just 207. He is 9th in passing yards, 27th in completion %, 3rd in touchdown passes, and 18th in QB rating. Not in the top 5 in every category but he has proved his self to be among the best in the country. Leading Kentucky to an 8-5 season and a BOWL win will help that out as well, and beating Louisville when they are in the top 10 should help that too. Woodson is among the best QB's if not the best in the country..You can't think or say any different.

If his play from the first 5 games doesn't hold up, you most certainly COULD...

Please. Woodson has solidified himself as 1 of the top QBs in the nation. I know its hard to grasp with him leading his team to a 5-1 start and UL being a mediocre 3-3 right now.

Yet my QB still has better stats...Yes, you're right, it crushes me....

Rutgers last year. So you are basically saying Brohm is a year ahead. Heisman talk was not for Dre'. NFL draft yes, but not heisman. The guy forced things, especially in the redzone, which severely hurt uk's chances. By the way, Brohm is the best QB and will get drafted higher.

You may have basically taken it that way, but what I was actually saying is that when we've seen Brohm and Woodson get pressured, they respond similarly. And guess what else...that makes them like 99% of all QB's.

And no, Brohm will not be drafted ahead of Woodson next year.

Did I clear that up?

They're are both having phenominal seasons. Brian has done everything he can to have the Cards undefeated.

Stats are great, good for Brohm. Brohm can go out and throw for 4,200 yards and over 40 TD's but U of L might win 6 games. Woodson will go out and throw for around 3,200 yards and 30 TD's and UK will win around 7-9 games. So yeah stats are good but UK fans would much rather have Woodson tossing for 1,000 yards less than Brohm but winning 2-4 more games :thumb:

He also has more INTs. Woodson has been ver efficient and his teams are WINNING GAMES!

Both are having good seasons but to act like Woodson will drop off and not be one of the top QBs in the nation is anti-UK hatred, or not thinking clearly or something!

I'll call your stats and raise you a 5-1 record. :thumb:

The first team that UK played that actually had a defense, Woodson played as bad as he has all year, having three TO's himself....Forgive me if I MIGHT think he could struggle the rest of the year against similar defenses....I thought it made sense. :creepy:

It was the top rated pass defense in the country in USC. The INT, while bad, wasn't as costly as the 2 fumbles. One was just a bad decision.

All this Brohm vs Woodson talk has really gotten old. Seems like UK fans wanna jump on Brohm at any opportunity and UL fans want to jump on Woodson. I think we are lucky to have 2 KY boys doing so well who will both be sitting pretty come draft day.

I can definately see Woodson dropping off. Especially in the next 2 weeks. The honeymoon ended Thursday night. The cupcake teams are already beaten. Now for UK, the challenges are here. So far, not so good.
