USC 27 Washington 24

Final. Almost another upset.

I was hoping, especially when I saw that on-side kick pop up high in the air, but unfortunately it came down in the grasp of a USC player.

It certainly was possible, but there was never a point in this game when I said "Geez, Washington's gonna win this."

USC's defense is absolutely awesome, and they were without their best player (Cushing), and down to the 4th string at one corner and 3rd string at one safety. Only 3 of Washington's 24 points were really "allowed" by the defense (Huskies returned a tipped INT for TD, got another tipped INT to the 9 yd line to set up another score, and the last TD was following a blocked punt returned to the 6).

USC survived 4 turnovers, the blocked punt, and 16 penalties for 161 yards. Booty did not look good at all. They also overcame the loss of 2 of their starting offensive lineman early in the game. They still managed to run the ball for over 250 yards.

They will not be able to play this way and beat Oregon, Cal, and ASU. But I think this game illustrates how strong a conference the Pac-10 is from top to bottom. Washington is a pretty solid football team, and their probably about the 5th or 6th best team in the conference.

Win and advance, win and advance.

I haven't seen UW play any other games this season but tonight's uni's looke a bit like Irish unis w/ a purple tint. That place was very loud, very rough place for any team.

Me and the people I was watching the game with said the same thing about the uni's.

Regardless of the outcome, USC sure didnt look like the best team in the country vs. Washington. I think they have a lot of problems with Oregon and Cal still left...and UCLA always plays them tough. I would really like to see how they would fare every year with an SEC schedule to chew on.

The uniforms were not their normal uniforms. They were celebrating their 1960 National Championship so they wore 1960 style uniforms. Their normal uniforms are much more purple.

I would like to see how an SEC team would fare staring at USC, UCLA, Cal, Oregon, ASU, et. al. week in and week out.

I was of course hoping that USC woud lose, that is a weekly given. I still listed them at #1 though but I am not sure that LSU dserves that spot.

It's going to be a couple of more years before Washington becomes one of the top teams in the Pac 10. Their quarterback, Jake Locker I believe, is going to be a stud the kid can just flat out fly. However he really needs to work on his accuracy he missed a lot of open recievers. He played with a lot of guts and he wil be a Heisman candidate in a couple of years.

I agree.......:thumb:

I bet Crewcut Charlie would have led UW to victory.

I jest, I jest.

That's what I thought once I saw the unis and the banners for past teams, I thought they were throwbacks but I don't get ESPN at home so I haven't seen UW in their regular trim.

Final. Almost another upset.

Somehow I don't think I would've been upset had USC lost.

4 turnover's and 16 penalties. This game should have been about 38-7. The Trojans have got to clean this up.
