Jurich on the move...

Featured Replies

I was chatting with a friend of mine today and they had heard that Jurich was the odds on favorite to replace Frank Broyles at Arkansas when he steps down officially at the end of the year.

Then today, I have heard that Jurich has/will interview for the vacant AD position at Florida State.

Probably smart, as this football hire is a baaaaaad mark on a great career.....

Disregard the Arkansas part...many felt he would be the odds on favorite to replace Broyles, but they just hired Pitt's AD...got only part of it right.

Still rumblings about FSU...could he be hired to move a legend into retirement ala Denny Crum, only this time Bobby Bowden?

Why would he want to leave Louisville?

If he leaves, he'll be another scapegoat for next years loss to UK! :D

Way too early for that determination.

I could definately see him leaving for a position like FSU. The UL supporters have (rightly) touted his doing more with less of a budget than other ADs. Why wouldn't he want to see what he could do with more resources--let alone a higher salary.

Why would he want to leave Louisville?

Not only has this not yet been fully determined (example: Rich Brooks), but One potentially bad move is not going to cause all the good he's done to be overlooked. He could've hired Martha Stewart for our football coach and I still would be glad he was our AD (of course, that could be an unwarranted insult to Martha... she could be a coaching prodigy).

Actually, I heard Miami was looking at her as a head coach.

Something about having some common ground with a lot of the players.

Jurich's twin daughters just committed to U of L for field hockey. They are juniors. Said a major factor in their decision was playing for the school their dad worked for.

Yes, I realize this does not mean Tom will necessarily be staying in town, but thought it was an interesting tidbit.

Is Jurich interviewing for the FSU job or is FSU seeking him out? My understanding is the latter. Everyone wants Jurich because he is the best, it is of no surprise that he is on the top of everyones list.
