I know better than that about th 6th grade team. We (Central) beat them, and so did Hazard in the same tourney. And I know Walton Verona beat them last weekend.

And the 5th grade Wolfpack beat them by 3 or 4 a couple of weeks ago.

wow! Didn't Highlands beat this team by 20 earlier in the year?

Highlands played some of their best ball in late December/early January. They looked very burnt out the last 4-5 games of the season including the Tournament. The 8 day layover due to weather didnt help either and there were no scrimmages during that 8 day span. Early in the season the Birds ran with TRMS and shot very well from the field. The final regular season game with TRMS was very close. The Birds jumped up aby 12 early in 1st half but lost by 2 at Holmes. It was an early morning game, they had a shot to tie with 2 seconds left but it fell short.

The Tournament game was never close and TRMS was clearly the better team. Like I said in an earlier post, I have never seen such apathy on the court. Turnovers just about every trip down, missed layups, no defensive help on penetration, just about everything you can imagine. Give credit to TRMS, they are swarming and love to play "street ball" and it works for them. They usually get steals and have guys cherry picking for several open layups. Not much of an offense with one or two guys waiting to penetrate but when they do they can score or get to the line. They really improved throughout the year and they will give PC all they can handle tonight.

PC will be ready for TRMS!

Should be a good game tonight, but in the end PC gets the win and heads back to the conference finals!

St. Joe's (Cold Spring) vs St. Joe's (Cresent Springs) is the finals for the NKY Catholic League Tournament.

Is this the 8th grade final???

TRMS 48 Sharp 36 Final

Congrats to the Titans, Closer game than the final score indicated.

Back and forth game and tied at the half. The Cats ran out of gas the 4th quarter.

It was their 3rd game of the day as they are playing in another tournament also this weekend. Good luck to the Titans in the finals tomorrow against Twenhofel.

Regroup tonight Cats and take the ship tomorrow in the Hoopin On The Hilltop tourney in Cynthiana.

Who are some of the top 8th grade Catholic school league players in NKY and where will they go to High School?

I expect TRMS to win the NKYMSBL 7th grade tourney. Atleast Highlands can say they beat both TRMS and Twenhofel during the regular season. Congrats to both teams for getting to the finals and good luck tomorrow.

Yes. Going to be tomorrow @ Bishop Brossart gametime set for 7:30 pm.

Also, I think Brossart may actually be broadcasting this game live on the internet too.

Adam Hieshue (sp?) - St Terese - Newport Central Catholic --kids a down right stud who can take over. I'm sure he can't wait to play with players that play on his level.

Ryan Hayden - St Joe's (Cold Spring) - Bishop Brossart or CovCath - Long, athletic forward who stands at 6'1'' (legit) already.

Zac Fardo - St. Joe's (Cold Spring) - Bishop Brossart or CovCath - Shooting guard who can light it up from nearly anywhere behind the arc. Very pure shot.

That's the top 3 I think.

Thanks, Brady Highchew is who you mean and he is a very good player. I know NCC may be the obvious but a little birdy told me you just never know.

I know Fardo was a stud as a player wiht the NKY Irish a couple years ago.

What about Carter New (Kenny Shields' grandson) ST. Catherine Sienna? I know he was hurt most of this year with a football injury but another little birdy told me he has his schedule of classes booked up at HHS. He will be a very good point guard for the Frosh team next season and they certainly will need it.

Andy Miller is another ST. Catherine player who could go either NCC/HHS and I think he goes about 6'1 and is very aggressive.

Seems to be a lot of interest in the boys diocesan championship games.

We will broadcast the 7th Grade Championship game between St. Mary Saints and the St. Joe Cavs live on the internet from Brossart High School Sunday night starting at 5:45pm, and the 8th Grade bout between the St. Joe Bluejays and the St. Joe, Crescent Springs Cavs on the same broadcast at about 7:20pm.

The broadcast of both contests can be accessed via the http://www.bmustangs.com website and the replay anytime on demand following the completion of the 8th Grade game.
