Does UofL's train wreck season take away from UK's win over them?

For now the UK win over UofL doesnt look as good. But, as others have said, UK will have a chance against Arkansas, SC, LSU, Fla, Georgia, etc to prove that they are an excellent team. Hopefully the win over UofL was just a stepping stone to greater things for the UK team this year. And if it served as the beginning of the wheels falling off for the Cards, then that's even better.

I said this in the game update thread and will say it again:

I have now watched three UL games this season and it appears at this point the VERY BEST that UL can play was last week against UK... UL looked 4 times worse today than last week. Against UK the offense and special teams didn't fall asleep and make fatal errors.

The shine is off the win to some extent.

However, time and place of victory was huge no matter how the Ville has continued on.

Not many remember that UK beat a 5-7 Bama team way back when...they just remember the victory.

Same can be said as for last weekend.

To win and finally put at bay the howling from Jefferson County over moving the game and so forth and so on...is satisfaction enough.

Plus, it may have been the signaling the downward spiral of the UL program to its regular level...

A win over UL and Bama in the same comparison? Yikes...

UK's win over Clemson was absolutely huge last year as well...

In your rush to be flippant with posters, as usual, many UK fans remember UK's first real big win under Mumme was beating the traditional power Alabama, yet Bama finished 5-7 that year. Did it take away from that win? Not particularly.

Is Louisville in the same breath with Alabama traditionally? Not by a long shot, but UL has had some success lately and particularly on this board there was a lot of smack and so forth about the in-state rivalry. Over the last few years, Louisville has gotten that national publicity...and finally UK beat them...

Will it take away from the win if UL falters the rest of the way...possibly.
