It may not end up being as impressive on the resume at season's end as expected, but it doesn't change the importance of this win from UK's standpoint.

Sort of my thoughts. I think the Syracuse game was a hangover game for UL, not an actual indication of Louisville's abilities.

 

Truly, this question can't be answered in some degree until UL plays UC, Rutgers, So. Florida and WVU. If UL gets back on track and wins a couple of these than the UK win smells just as sweet.

I think that if UL has a bad year it will take down the UK win over UL but still UL was ranked at the time UK beat them. Plus its a in state foe. I dont care if UL goes 2-10 and UK goes 9-3 its still a big win for UK, maybe not as big as a Ark win

You can't quantify what beating the then #9 ranked team in the nation did for this UK team's confidence and the residual affect it has had and will have through the rest of the season. It was a huge win for UK. Period. After the season is over, it may not look that good, but that doesn't change the actual situation and circumstances surrounding the game. UK beat a bitter in-state rival who had owned them for 4 years and were ranked #9 in the nation...it was a huge boost for momentum and confidence, but like any good team, I think UK put it behind them and moved forward.
