September 10, 200719 yr In the couple of parts I have highlighted in your post you have just descibed Exactly the way I feel in reverse about U.L. fans and their arrogance, that is precisely the reason that I could never pull for U.L. anything. Aside from the teams that I have mentioned in my earlier post my favorite is whoever may be playing U.L. on a given day or night in any sport. You have your view of it and I have mine and that is o.k. by me :thumb: While it is similar, we have a different rationality behind it. You use it to become anti-UL. I am by no means anti-UK in any way whatsoever. I find that doing so is taking it too far, because no matter which of the two you pull for you are still encouraging a part of this state to do well. In the end the state as a whole is more important than either school or our petty little squabbles. Both UK and UL doing well reflects well on us all as opposed to a few of us.

September 10, 200719 yr I grew up about an hour from Columbus, and thus an OSU fan. I remember listening and watching every OSU game with my dad when I was a little tyke. I played basketball with Kyle Macy's dad in 78 and became a UK fan of basketball then.
September 10, 200719 yr I I played basketball with Kyle Macy's dad in 78 and became a UK fan of basketball then. How old was Kyle Macy's dad in 1978?
September 10, 200719 yr I have always been a huge UK fan since I was a little boy. I have always loved watching UK play and especially in basketball they have given me a lot of great memories over the years. I do actually like Texas in football because, as silly as it may sound, I started playing with them on NCAA football pretty much all the time like 6 years ago. And before long I found myself pulling for them and checking their box scores.
September 10, 200719 yr Growing up I was a die-hard UK fan, I still consider myself a "big" UK fan, but not like I used to be. Over the years I have become a Patriots and Red Sox fan. (My friends give me a hard time and think I should move to Boston!!!) I began liking The Pats when they beat Oakland in the playoffs, with the "Brady Tuck Rule" I began liking the Red Sox after they came back from 3-0 to beat the Yanks in the ALCS. (Yes you could say I am a bandwagon fan!) Also after having Xavier basketball season tickets for a few years I consider myself a big Xavier fan, as well!
September 10, 200719 yr How old was Kyle Macy's dad in 1978? He came to my home town to visit his uncle. I'm going to guess around early to mid 40's. I was in 7th grade at the time.
September 10, 200719 yr I was raised in a Notre Dame / UL home. I went away to UK for college, graduated, and now I BLEED BLUE!
September 10, 200719 yr My uncle played basketball for Louisville back in the 70's before I was born. I am a cradle to the grave Catholic (of at least some Irish decent) and since when I was growing up UK and Louisville both struggled in football/or didn't play anybody, I became a Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan as such, my dad, and both granddads were in the Army so I root for Army. During high school I earned college credit through Bellermine (go Knights, but boo the new mascot). Then I went to the University of Louisville (both undergrad and graduate degrees) where I used to compete in Ranger Challenge with Army ROTC, including my specialty the M16 Rifle team. I help with Manual's football team on Friday nights and my little baby brother graduated with Keenan Burton and he is such a good guy I have to root for him when he is not playing Louisville. So I root for Louisville first, then Notre Dame, then Army, then Kentucky state schools, then other Big East schools, then other Service Academies then UK after that every other team could lose every game they play for all I care!
September 10, 200719 yr I root for my Cincy teams cause I am from Cincinnati. I root for UK basketball caused I moved to NKY in 1995 and fell in love with UK's bball tradition and at the time UC basketball were known as thugs.
September 10, 200719 yr Also born and raised as a UK fan, just like my Father who pass it down to me, now I have pass it down to my sons.

September 10, 200719 yr As a Reds fan, who my Father also pass it on down to me, I was only able to pass it on down to one of my sons. So now we have a NY Mets fan in the family.I didn't do a very good job on him.:irked:
September 10, 200719 yr College Football 1. Texas. Because when I was a boy one of the first games I ever saw was Texas' big comeback win over Arkansas for the National Title in '69. Was hooked ever since. 2. Kentucky. Because I was born and raised a UK fan. Not fanatic here. 2b. Eastern Kentucky. Grad from there. It's great when they play UK, I can't lose. 4. VA Tech & UVA. Because I've lived in the state for 16 years I have a knack for rooting for the state schools here. College Basketball 1. UK. My parents never took us on family vacations. They dumped us at grandparents and went on the tourney trail every year with their best friends. I vaguely remember the Rupp Show with Tom Hammock. Pro Football 1. Miami Dolphins. First time I saw Larry Csonka run over a DB I was hooked. Would love to see another Super Bowl win before my time on earth is through. Baseball 1. Reds. Grew up in the 70's in KY. No better time to get hooked on the Reds than then. Nobody matches that team in my lifetime and only a few come close. Loved it when the Reds shocked the world in '90 because my wife gave birth to our first child a month later. What a year!
