Cal seemed a lot quicker than the Vols. Special teams play hurt the Vols as well.

The bad thing about it is that an SEC school lost an OOC game. The good thing is that it was "Good Ol' Rotten Flop" and Fulmer.

A little different outcome from last years match up. Cal had the speed and #1 Jackson for Cal. was the fastest on the field any time he touched the ball.

Cal was good no doubt.

Really, its about what should have been expected. Fairly evenly matched teams, Cal had home field advantage and got two scores on a fumble and a punt return. Those two plays were the difference.

As far as Pac-10 vs. SEC, this was the #2 ranked Pac-10 school vs. the #4/#5 ranked SEC team.

I'd like to see UT vs. UCLA/Oregon or Cal vs. Florida.

The always fun "disclaimer" after a SEC OOC loss...

Is it really an excuse when everyone knows it's true?

It's pointless...

That isn't what people thought before the game. The predictions had Tenn outmanning Cal.

I felt UT would beat them, Cal was much better than I thought. If you're comparing the individual teams, then Cal is better, but you can't use one game to compare the two conferences.

The only person that brought it up was running damage control...

but you can't use one game to compare the two conferences.
No you can't. But it is part of the debate.

UT got beat fair and square, but all those clamoring "OMG!! THE PAC10 BEAT TEH SEC!! LOOK!!!" Need to step back and look at what really happened.

The higher ranked team playing at home won.

USC and Cal are great teams. Cal's speed was amazing. However, acting like this game means the Pac10 is as good/better than the SEC is humorous.

Could LSU beat Stanford and then claim the SEC must be better than the Pac10?

Who is acting like that? OR mentioned it and he's a die hard UK fan. Then you started damage control for something that wasn't an issue. I simply pointed out the sillyness of the spin cycle...
