September 2, 200719 yr The polls are the most accurate after the season is over and all the smoke has cleared... Like the previous year when WVU beat the SEC Champion with mostly the same roster? Gotcha...
September 2, 200719 yr The polls are the most accurate after the season is over and all the smoke has cleared...and I didn't say everyone...99% is more like it... Very true, but like I already said, I don't think they're better but it's all a matter of opinion.
September 2, 200719 yr Like the previous year when WVU beat the SEC Champion with mostly the same roster? Gotcha... I'll grant you that the Big East rep will always have the advantage of playing in a much weaker conference and not getting beat up every week like in the SEC...If WVU had been in the SEC they would have never got a sniff of that bowl game....

So Georgia lost their bowl game because they're IN the SEC? Man this is getting confusing...
September 2, 200719 yr I don't think you'll find anyone that would say WV was better than LSU.....Same level of competition.
September 2, 200719 yr I sure hope every thread involving an SEC team this year doesn't go like this one. Cal looked very good and are extremely tough at home. I'm not sure how many teams in the country would be favored heading to that place. Tennessee may have missed Coker but Cal would have won anyways IMO. I, along with everyone else in the country, would like to see more home and homes like this one early on in the season. Jackson may be the explosive player in the country.
September 2, 200719 yr Cal squashes SEC arrogance with mauling of Tennessee http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/story/10328834 BERKELEY, Calif. -- SEC RULES, PAC-10 DROOLS. You knew that didn't you? Les Miles reminded the world over the summer. The SEC, the LSU coach said, features "stiffer competition" than the Pac-10. No. 1 USC had "an easier road to travel" to the national championship game. The Trojans would face some real (sarcasm dripping) "knock down, drag outs" with the likes of Cal. Then someone picked up the banner for Miles, literally, and flew it over Memorial Stadium a couple of hours before Cal met Tennessee on Saturday. Paid big bucks, it is assumed, for an airplane to drag that capital-lettered taunt across the sky. "It's pathetic they have to go and do that," Cal linebacker Zack Follett said following his team's 45-31 victory. "They wasted their money. If you're confident in the SEC, be confident in it. You don't have to be flying planes around. I thought that was stupid on their part." See what you did, Les? Now it's personal. A simple intersectional season opener between ranked teams turned into a culture war. And a whipping. The points were the most scored on Tennessee in 12 years, since Steve Spurrier dropped 62 on the Vols. The Bears were much nicer about it than those old hated Gators. But the Vols -- and in a small way their conference -- were still humiliated. Don't write me, write the LSU coach and the guy who paid for the airplane. By the end, the sellout crowd had bought in to the theme. They were chanting, "Pac-10 foot-ball!"

They are going to be a lot of fun to watch this year. I was surprised Tennessee stayed in it for so long, maybe Cal's defense isn't that great.
September 2, 200719 yr I picked UT to win, but they simply could not stop Cal. Cal's offense looked great! Hopefully UK's offense will be able to move the ball that well on UT this year!!
September 2, 200719 yr I just remembered something funny. Did anyone see all the hippies in the trees?
