Georgia Tech 33 Notre Dame 3

Ouch, it was so bad, I left the TV after halftime. How did Claussen do? Reminded me of the Ty Willingham days of Carlyle Holliday(sp.) running the offense. This is going to be a looooong season...

^Claussen played alright. In comparison to the other two, he should definitely be their starter from here on out. Putting him in there next weekend in Happy Valley may not be the smartest thing to do to a true freshman QB though.

From the little I saw of him in the game, you can definetley see that Claussen is going to be pretty good, as well as the other Freshman on the team. I think if Claussen would have been healthy from the onset he would have started yesterday.

Everyone forgets that this same D dominated Quinn and Samardjia last year. It's an aggressive, blitzing D that confused even the #1 Heisman hopeful a year ago. GT played in the ACC championship game last year as well. They are a good team, who actually has a decent QB. ND has no experience on offense. I believe that they'll get 6 wins this year. However, next year will be a Top 5-10 team again.

This is not the same GT team. They lost their starting QB and their superstar WR.

Notre Dame will be lucky to win 5 games this year.

It looks like Notre Dame will not be losing its 10th straight bowl game this season.

Same thing I was thinking. I posted earlier about his lack of leadership around this topic.

G-Tech played decent and being this was a blowout on national tv I am very happy with it over all.

It looks like Notre Dame will not be losing its 10th straight bowl game this season.

I will be flat out shocked if they GET to a Bowl Game.

That was hilarious and sad all rolled into one yesterday. I'm one of a very few Catholics that do NOT like Notre Dame, and while I smirk when they lose at home (I know, I know, I just can't help it), I couldn't believe how anemic they looked all day.

Mark May's 1-7 start he predicted (and got killed for making) looks solid at this point.

Is GT this good, or ND that bad? Where dose GT figure in the ACC race? I would think they're not in the picture with teams like VaTech and Florida State.

I'm right there with you. I can't stand the Irish. :thumb:

Lou Holtz said that ND would be 10-2 this year. That guy is off his rocker these days.

This is not the same GT team. They lost their starting QB and their superstar WR.

He said it was the same D.

Are you serious??? They returned a ton of the defense that killed Quinn last year. Starting QB??? Reggie Ball was HORRIBLE. Losing Johnson hurts, but the ACC leading rusher returned, and the kid throwing the ball this year can see over the line and distribute the ball. This GT team is better than last years. ND on the other hand...ugly.

I think you guys are over reacting. Any honest fan of Notre Dame would have told you that this is going to be a down year. It's not as if Notre Dame fans didn't realize that this year was coming.

Look at the Senior and Junior classes of the Irish. This is were the Ty Willinghams failures as a recruiter become very obvious. Their is very little quality and no depth in the upperclassmen at Notre Dame. I do not believe that 1-7 will happen but it will be a difficult year and I would be happy with 5+ wins.

It appeared to me that the team responded much better to Clausen under center than either of the other two. Who knows why he didn't start, maybe their is some truth to the rumor that he is not 100%, maybe Weis simply didn't want to put the pressure on him of starting as a true freshman in his first college game action.

Say what you want but Georgia Tech has one of the better D's in the country. And IMO the loss of Reggie Ball was addition by subtraction. How good would have Calvin Johnson's numbers been with an accurate QB.

I figured that the offense would struggle but I must admit I did not think that they would be as bad as they were. They started a new QB, RB, 2 WR, & 3OL. The defense has a little more experience, but having switched to a 3-4, I expect their will be a bit of a learning curve. It doesn't help that a 5-star CB was lost for the season before it even started.

To be fair to the defense the offense put them in terrible situations all day as far as field position. That being said they still have a long way to go. Their is a lot of talent int he freshman class, and what happened Saturday is the norm than perhaps they should just go ahead and get some on the job training on the field.

I was really pleased with what I saw out of the freshman class. Clausen will be fine in time, Duval Kamara had a couple of nice catches. And I saw promise from Armando Allen and Golden Tate.

You haters go ahead and have your fun. I still have faith in Weis and if he continues to bring in recruiting classes like he did last year and what he has received verbals from so far this year, I see no way but for them to return to prominence.
