When I was little I would spend the day at the Kentucky movie theater on main street Danville every Saturday. For like a $1 you could stay and watch movies all day long. Pippy was always showing. Jaws..... Scared me to death...You could not catch me close to water.

Jaws..... Scared me to death...You could not catch me close to water. I was a lifeguard several summers; usually at pools. But I was a beach lifeguard the summer that Jaws hit the screen. Even though we were on the Chesapeake Bay, there were still lots of folks that were afraid to go in the water.
September 1, 200719 yr That's a good one. A lot of good movies have been named but from my actual childhood a couple of B movies I liked were "Race with the Devil" and "Trilogy of Terror". I remember Race with the devil on tv when I was a kid and it scared me to death. Very creepy. It has been circulating on cable lately and it doesn't seem that intense anymore. The only part that is scary is the rattlesnakes that the cult places in their rv...

Another movie called "The Strange and Deadly Occurrence" put me in my parent's bed as a child but didn't seem so scary as an adult.

Second might be.....The Grinch. One thing all of our kids miss is that one time only view. If you missed it, it was gone till next year.

If you missed it, it was gone till next year. I think this is pretty much over for the "next" generation. I also liked Snoopy series (which come's on every holiday). I also miss the original Cinderella.

September 2, 200719 yr When I was a young child in the late '50s and early '60s, you didn't have a way to keep movies and watch them over and over. You saw them at the theater, or you watched them on TV. A big event at our house, once a year, was to watch The Wizard of Oz on TV. We grew up in the same era... Back in Mprgan Co you didn't even have a movie theater...you had to go to the Drive-in theater. Yes you watched them on black and white TV's no color yet...hey we was lucky to even have a TV. Don't remember watching many movies...just showes like Bananza, Alferd Hichcock, American Bandstand, Perry Mason and The Ed Sullivan Show.
