August 23, 200719 yr My brother, you've asked a question with no known answer. Thank you for answering!!!! Call me naive, but I cannot believe we're this far down this path and truly cannnot answer the most basic question. We simply have to be the uninformed?
August 23, 200719 yr From article: Most local public school officials said they were happy to see Proposal 2 fail and that they would continue to schedule private schools. “We have never been a supporter of Proposal 2,” said Holmes athletic director Ron Madrick. “And we’re certainly not going to boycott any private schools. That’s the position of our athletic department, our school and our superintendent. We don’t want any part of that garbage.” Wow! No matter if you agree or disagree with the Holmes AD you have to give the man credit for not skirting the issue and taking a stand for all to see.

I was surprised at his comment. I had assumed that he would be a proponent. In discussing this with others in the education world , it was mentioned that his comments in the past were representing a group of schools that he represented for the KHSAA and not his own individual views. In addition, I talked to some folks that work with him and they have nothing by high regards for the man. Lesson learned.

August 23, 200719 yr In spite of you being there... I always tested very well. My GPA on the other hand... :walk:
August 24, 200719 yr I always thought Lloyd tested pretty high academically... I'm not slamming Lloyd, I don't have any clue about their academic record. I was saying that the parents in the Erlanger/Elsmere area that send their kids to SHDS is b/c they find it to be a better product, for whatever reason. Splitting private/public is not going to fix whatever problems now exist.

August 24, 200719 yr http://www.bluegrasspreps.com/showthread.php?t=127445 I just responded to it. Makes me feel kinda sheepish.
August 24, 200719 yr Frankly as a tax payer, I want Highlands to accept out of district students and charge them tuition if we have room because it further dilutes the fixed costs of operating the school (heat, building maintenance, teacher's salaries, etc). Its just gravy revenue. Glad to contribute!:thumb:
