August 23, 200719 yr They'll lose this second game. They will be to tired to move after all of those trips around the bases.
August 23, 200719 yr They'll lose this second game. They're up 5-3 in the 4th. Baltimore's pitching staff will be ragged out for a week after today.

August 23, 200719 yr They only used the starter and 3 relief guys... Yeah, but their starter threw 96 pitches and the 3 relievers threw 34, 54, and 68 respectively. Also their starter in the nightcap has thrown 94 through 4 so either he'll be a sacrificial lamb or their bullpen will get chewed up again. Since he's a rookie I'm betting on the latter.
August 23, 200719 yr They only used the starter and 3 relief guys... Per the highlights, quite a few of the hits looked like they were just out of reach of the defense. I've never seen the law of averages work against a team so severely!

Just making it clear that the first game, while it did hurt, did not destroy the pen...
August 23, 200719 yr Texas took the nightcap 9-7. Here's the combined line for the O's pitchers (and I use that term loosely) for the day: IP.....H....R.....ER.....BB.....K.....HR.......Pitches......ERA 18....40..39....39.....13.....19....6........428...........19.50 Way to go guys! At least you didn't spike yourselves.......

August 23, 200719 yr One more example of how the save stat is useless. But it's good for us fantasy owners. What a week it's been so far for the MLB. 10 RBI's by Garett Anderson, Rangers score 30 on the O's, Pujols has 30+ homeruns in his 1st 7 seasons, and the playoff races are close. Oh, the Reds beat the Braves a couple of times, as well.
