:thumb: Thanks TO. I really wouldn't mind it being moved to 8:30 or 9. Predicted temps now for friday are in triple digits w/o the heat index factor

Jay you have hit the nail on the head with that one. The good people at Ashland are masters of manipulation and as long as the Ramblers play nice with them the Tomcats will throw them a bone every now and then. Let Raceland go against Ashland and see what happens. My guess is big brother will smack little brother around.

I am glad the some people "Think" that they know the story on it. :sssh: :sssh::rolleyes: . Some have an incredible mind reading ability  .

Imo the real fact is that the ones that can't stand Ashland don't like it when anyone gives Ashland credit for anything. Of course I am reluctant to compliment the fans (I will always give the kids credit) of the place that seem to have the most problem with it and we all know who that is. Again, some of those fans (not all) just seem to love to wallow in misery: :sssh:  That subject is beyond the dead horse level by now.

:walk: :walk:

Now!!

Back to the topic, Imo the weather / temperatures will have a major factor on the game. I also agree with another that a big question mark will be the play on the line for both teams and both have new faces there. I hope and pray that there are no heat related problems on the field with any of the players and also in the stands with the fans. As always I hope that both teams stay injury free.

If they moved the game to 3am Raceland fans would still pack the place.

Hey, oldrambler. I know a family that has three brothers in it. The big brother used to smack around on the little brother and the middle brother. After years of being picked on the little brother started smacking the big brother and the middle brother back. Finally, the little brother became the strongest brother of them all and no one picked on him again. He lost some battles, but won many battles over all.

After years of growing and maturing, and the brothers became adults, they realized that they could have disagreements, but still be friends after the argument was over. They became friends, still had disagreements, but would not allow anyone from outside pick on any of their brothers. It was kind of like an unwritten law that they could pick on their brothers, but no one else could.

Do you know of any families like that?

I liken the Raceland/Ashland contract to the classic and stereotypical abusive relationship. Raceland (the battered girlfriend) is in denial of the abuse it receives at the hands of Ashland (the dominating and bullying boyfriend). Raceland sells itself short due to a lack of self-confidence from years and years of the abuse. Friends and neighbors who witness the abuse and try to interseed on the behalf of Raceland, are instead rebuffed as Raceland tries to make excuses for its abusive partner. Word-up Raceland, you don't have to take it anymore. It doesn't matter that you have a small facility, demand to play them on a home and away basis. Home field advantage would make a huge difference for you this year. Your kids deserve it, your fans deserve it and most of all Raceland - "the program" deserves it.

How many fans can Raceland actually bring?

Me to, I have two older brothers (who went to Russell) and I am the youngest (I went to Raceland) I am bigger, stronger, and more aggressive then my two brothers, they would never pick on me anymore, because they would lose. But, I still love them, and would not let anyone pick on them, because I love them, they are my brothers.

Good to hear that Shannon will get to come back. And great news that practice is going well, I have all the confidence that the coaching staff will have Raceland ready to play.

My guess would be as many that want to attend!!

Again, the ONLY ones that seem to have problem with it are Russell fans and why should you (Russell fans) even care?? That is what cracks me up. You guys seem to be so full of hatred for Ashland that you can't stand anyone that compliments them. If Raceland has had no problem with the arrangement then why does Russell ??- how is a Raceland / Ashland series any of Russell's business? Probably bc Raceland would not agree to the same deal with Russell and they can't stand it, I am not sure. I do not blame them and I would in no way agree to that with Russell either, JMO.

I knew the Raceland/Russell thing would get bad but I thought that it would be closer to the actual game. This again is Raceland vs. Ashland and it has drawn more attention from Russell people than their own game. I am glad you are Raceland and Ashland fans :D

I have said it before and it is my fault for going back on it - I am done with this one and those certain ones that can't seem to get over anything. I am not singling any one person out or anything, they know who they are.

My apologies for going on, I knew it was useless and am done with it.

Best of luck to all.

It is so sad that one has to really go to the gutter and liken the Ashland program to a wife abuser.

Oh, let's be clear here. He said "girlfriend" abuser. Ashland is far too wise to liken the relationship to "husband and wife". That would mean that there would be equality. They'd lose too much money!:D

I'd say that maybe Ashland entered the relationship with a pre-nup.;)
