No there isn't a gag order on Tomcat fans we're just confident that we're going to win and we don't need to talk about it.

Raceland 6

I admire your confidence but a little friendly chat among fans adds to the excitement under the Friday night lights.

I'll be pulling for the Tomcats every week, except this one.:thumb:

:thumb: :thumb: As will I. I am a RamblerCat :D

With only 3 returning starters this year’s Tomcats are very inexperienced. We have plenty of talent, but we’re short on varsity experience. I think the Cats will come together and play good football later in the season, but it may take a few games.

My only prediction is that it will be a fun night of football – and I think the score will be close.

Said with class, as usual!:thumb:

Someone got up on the wrong side of the kitty litter.

Well said, both teams have some experience to gain, and playing each other will fit the bill nicely. Should make for a very good and exciting HS football game.

Im real suprised your pulling for the Rams as hard as yo uare Jeepman... A Raceland Win last year did propel the Tomcats to send your Devils home with a loss last year in what was supposed to be an embarresment of the Tomcats.

On the game, Good luck to both squads. I have the honor to play football now with Scott Grizzle and JT Forrest, and I have nothing but respect for the Rams and their players.

Its nice for Football to be in the air again,

I just think Raceland has a better team. I'm not against Ashland. You will see me routing for them after the Raceland game. Right now I'm for Raceland. Sure I like to poke fun. Thats all it is. If a 5-A school can't come away with a victory over a 1-A school I see a problem. See just poking again. Relax and have fun.

Very good prediction Graybeard, I would agree with this.

The truth is, Ashland schedules Raceland every year for the guranteed win to start the season. Last year that tried and true formula backfired against the mighty T-Cats. (Raceland had a special team last year.) This year it should be business as usual; Ashland 27, Raceland 13. :ylsuper:

The truth is we have a special team every year. We kick off, kick x-tra points, and we also have a punter.:sssh:

The Red Devils have started the last few seasons with an open date, Do you have a magic formula for that as well?

Acutally, I never liked the open date to start the season. I've always thought it made more sense to use it later in the year to mend injuries before playoffs. This year it's right where it needs to be... just before playoffs!!!! :thumb:

I think Raceland may have a better squad, so I'll pick them, but I expect it to be fairly tight. I'm real excited for football season.

Actually, Raceland has beaten Ashland several times, including, I believe three times in a row '91-'93. If you ask Ashland, I don't believe they take the Raceland game as a guaranteed win.

Seems to me that you are either trying to stir something up, or you don't know much about the Raceland/Ashland series.

I think Ashland did take a win for granted against Raceland last season and payed the price for it. They may not admit it but I doubt there were any Ashland fans or players that thought they might lose that game. Thats not being disrespectful or trying to stir the pot. That is just human nature.

^ JMO but I would certainly hope that any player on any team would go into any game confident they can win. Should they go in thinking that they might or will lose.............they will. ;)

I know that I had said last season after the Raceland/Ashland game that the Raceland kids went in that game not just thinking they would win, they went in knowing they would win. That is in no way a cut on Ashland, it was just the Raceland players mind set last year.
