:thumb: Raceland and Russell have played football for many years and were able to accommodate the crowd, I see no reason why it would change.

More bleachers would be nice and removing the track would be fantastic but the playing surface at Raceland is one of the better ones around. The addition of the "crumb rubber" was a great idea.

I think we have done a good job of building the Tomcats up. Should be a competitive game for both teams.

:lol: I don't think that very many if any Raceland faithful will bash Ashland, we never have as they have always treated us with class as well :thumb: . There is a lot of respect for the Tomcats in RamLand.

You know I'm really sorry I asked about why Raceland has to play at Ashland all the time. I just thought that there might be a real reason. Like lawn chairs are not allowed in the city limits of Raceland. I know now.

Im real suprised your pulling for the Rams as hard as yo uare Jeepman... A Raceland Win last year did propel the Tomcats to send your Devils home with a loss last year in what was supposed to be an embarresment of the Tomcats.

Well there's a new twist to start the season. I doubt that the Cats are 3 touchdowns better than the Rams, however I'll say that the score will favor the Cats by 6,,,,let's say 20-14.

If I know the Raceland faithful like I do they will paint one side of Putnam orange. Much like Russell/Ashland in Putnam it ends up almost seeming like a neutral field with the sheer volume of fans. Russell/Ashland last year was played on Saturday and the Russell side was populated by a bevy of Boyd County, Raceland, and other area schools' fans. So it didn't seem like to me, in that game at least, like Ashland had any home field advantage. Maybe the Russell kicker was somewhat distracted by the shirtless Tomcat fans in the end zone seating? Somehow, though, I highly doubt they would have played much of a factor unless it was the cheerleaders, and not a bunch of high school boys, with T-O-M-C-A-T-S painted on their chest screaming at the top of their lungs.

 

As for the game I don't know much about Ashland this year, but I do know that Raceland hits and hits hard. For the last several years they may be one of the hardest hitting teams (maybe even the hardest) in the area. In their two scrimmages the same comments about Raceland keep being made they will knock the snot out of you for four quarters. I fully expect the Rams to come out and let that Orange Crush D rattle a few helmets and make a few plays to win it in the end. This game will end being all about defense and which defense makes the biggest plays at the right time.
