  Not by my post anyway, the Raceland / Russell game is along way off and the Ashland/Raceland folks pretty much respect one another and treat each other with respect and class therefore we usually don't have any problems and.................. This is a Raceland / Ashland thread by the way. ;):D .

Maybe it is just my paranoia (you're not really paranoid, if they are really after you), but who else thinks that Matt Thomas will not play QB the whole game?

I see Ashland having some sets where they move Thomas to WR or RB and another back takes some snaps. Does anyone else see this happening?

I think Thomas will stay at QB the entire game. He needs the reps and this game will be a learning experience for him.

Maybe so, I just think they will try to find different ways to get him the ball in places where he can make plays. They are going to run traditional options with him, run or pitch. I am sure they are going to run some pass/run options with him. I just think they will also try some pass plays to him, or maybe line him up at TB some. Maybe not. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Ashland will come out and surprise some people this year.

I don't know what they will do but they do have the opportunity to use him in that way. Thomas is a very good and versatile athlete and could be used in any one of a number of ways.

Thomas is a very gifted athlete that can cause many problems for a defense but I also think that the Tomcats have other weapons that if we don't keep in check have the ability to take over the game.

I really think special teams play will be a huge factor in this game. Like you said, we'll what happens on Friday night.

You know I'm really sorry I asked about why Raceland has to play at Ashland all the time. I just thought that there might be a real reason. Like lawn chairs are not allowed in the city limits of Raceland. I know now.

Now for the game. Raceland is tired of being pushed around by Ashland therefore racland dominates the line.

You can stir with the best of them.:D

But, honestly, Raceland has hosted many teams with a large following and I have heard very little complaint about the facilities. I have talked to many fans from other schools that have made the comment that they enjoyed playing at Raceland because it was such a good football environment. I, as well as all the other Raceland fans, know that there are better football facilities in the area, as well as the state, but I have seen many that were not as good as Raceland's. To each their own.

I'm actually looking forward to going to Raceland. I will bring a lawn chair due to the shortage of seating. You won't hear me complain one bit. Russell has played at many schools with smaller facilities for the visitors.

Good luck and go get you a Tomcat.

Thank you, it will be interesting to see what happens Friday, as well as week 10.

Also, there are plans to have additional seating on the visitors side of the field for the Russell game. Several sets of baseball bleachers are going to be moved for that game. So, it won't be that bad, but feel free to bring your lawn chair, couch, or recliner (I'll help you carry it in) and make yourself at home.

:thumb: Raceland and Russell have played football for many years and were able to accommodate the crowd, I see no reason why it would change.

More bleachers would be nice and removing the track would be fantastic but the playing surface at Raceland is one of the better ones around. The addition of the "crumb rubber" was a great idea.
