Don't let him fool you, the Rambler still has some fuel in the tank, and he still has some spark in those plugs.:D Plus, as long as Raceland is playing he will be there at heart.

That all is true enough, but the problem is that I forgot where I put everything   :scared:

I really think the decision to move the game back is a good one. I think it would be even better at 8:30, but geez that would be another 30 minutes to wait! Haha

I would have loved to have seen it moved to 8:30, maybe even 9:00. Whatever it takes to protect the kids.

I went to meet the Cats tonight and the stadium was compleatly shadowed at about 7:30 that should help alot.:thumb: Only the Ashland band section had a little sun on it.A little breeze stiring would help. The field looks great.

It was a great move to change the time to 8:00pm, 8:30 might have been nicer, but 8:00 will be fine. It starts cooling down around 7:00 come 8:00 it should be comfortable. I think 8:30 would be a better time for all football games, I have always thought 7:30 was to early.

Good to hear Jericho, should make the game safer and funner for the players, and more enjoyable for the fans. I can't wait.

I think 8:30 would be just fine in this heat.Im bitting at the bit too.

In the Independent's football preview, Coach Hart said ,offensively, Ashland was going to run some three back sets, some shotgun, a spread, and the I formation. That should be interesting.

I thank Raceland has some alternate formation and offensive packages that were not used last year.

This should make for some fun and exciting football. I think this game is going to be more of a defensive game. With all the defensive changes for both teams, I think it will be who is more defensively prepared. I am sure Ashland's defense is going to be good, but I have to say that Raceland's defense has been very impressive, in the pre-season.

I think most people look at both school's offense as being explosive, but this (as well as all tough games) is going to be won by the defense.

Im sure opening games are tough on def. coaches and should be interesting night of football.I have not got to watch the boys scrimmage ,but im sure both teams have made adj's for defensive weakness.

I like the idea of the three back off. package ,this is one of the quickest total Tomcat teams i have seen in a long time, not just Matt and R. Carter but entire team.We will see if they have heart and desire to play every down with 110% effort tomorrow night.:thumb: I think this should be a very exciting game.:thumb:

I think so too. I'd be surprised if more than 40 total points will be scored.

I'm thinking in the 21-14, or 14-7 range, I won't tell you who I think will have what.:D

I really believe Ashland will score atleast 21.....it may be slow going early for both teams. With inexperienced players getting their first varsity action I hope the penalties are at a minimum tonight.

:thumb: You make some very good points jericho. You mentioned the quickness on the Tomcat side of the football and I am sure that they have just that. I will say that Raceland has much improved speed over last season as well. This may be one of te fastest, quickest Raceland teams as a whole (all positions - "O" and "D") in quite a while as well. This game will be a good test for both teams and a very good measuring stick as to what will need work.

May both teams remain injury free. :thumb:

I believe that Ashland will get their half of that. :D

Kick-off in just under 8 hours.

I talked to some of the players and coaches the other evening and to my suprise, confidence isnt scarce. Theres really one word to describe this Ashland squad and thats SPEED. Last years team was big and strong but I look for these young Tomcats to be able to strike and strike fast, and with a couple of games of experience, in this game we all know and love, speed is a very dangerous thing. Are the Tomcats fast enough to beat Raceland? I dont know, but I look for a great highschool football game, one that Ashland and Raceland fans alike can enjoy.

Cant wait to get to Putnam,

Yoter

Oh, Graybeard. Is there a alumni pass for those great tailgates?

Absolutely! I’m sure all the tailgaters would love to see you there. You may even get to sign some autographs.
