No, Raceland is in Greenup Co.

Wouldn't Fairview be Ashland's "little brother" since they are in their city, county, or "backyard"?

BTW, beating Ashland these days is not as difficult as it once was.

Maybe it used to be difficult to walk out of Putnam with a win. It isn't anymore.

Think what you will, but over the last 3 years Ashland has only lost 5 home games, including playoffs. And all 5 loses came to VERY respectable programs.

06- Raceland

05- Ironton, Rockcastle (Region Semi's)

04- Russell, Bell Co. (Region Finals)

You don't have to agree, but atleast give credit where credit is due. I'm sure Russell doesnt lose many home games, and Im assuming havent lost a home game in two seasons. But when you play in the district they used to play in its easy to understand why. Hopefully the new class system will bring some better competition to Red Devil Lane....

I seriously, do not understand the fascination with this. It is a non-district game, against a formidable opponent, in a playoff type atmosphere. It is meant to get Raceland ready for the district match ups and the playoffs. Is that not what all non-district games are for?

Does Raceland, as well as all teams, want to win this game as well as all their games? Of course. But, it is to prepare for the district/playoff games, plain and simple.

I still say it will be a good game, as it normally is.

I have hear a lot of good stuff about Carter, I hope Raceland can contain him.

:thumb: Another good post, I have heard very good reports on the Carter kid as well, hopefully he will really kick it in gear after Friday night :sssh: :D .

Seems to me that a certain school on Red Devil Lane did not come out of Putnam Last season with a win :sssh: :sssh:  , must have been some sort of difficulty in it for them anyway. :D

I couldn't help that one, you set it up on a tee. (LOL)

Seems someone may have a short memory or is just

If you check last years results from your home teams visit to Putnam, I think it reveals that your explanation of difficulty reads somewhat different than what others understand.:sssh:

Possibly there is mutual respect between the two schools. Maybe Raceland enjoy's coming to Putnam Stadium to open the year. Honestly in Eastern Kentucky is there a better place to open the season than historic Putnam? I doubt it. I would venture a guess that both schools, fans, and teams enjoy this game. Even though Ashland I'm sure has quite a lead in the head-to-head standings, Raceland wins one over Ashland sometimes. I'm sure these wins every few meetings build Raceland's confidence for the rest of the season and give their kids fantastic memories. It would be nice of Russell to throw their "little brother" Fairview a bone every now and then......

Oh yeah.....watch out for Ashland's RB #21 Rashard Carter. He has big-time talent. He will be a record setter if his work ethic matches his God given ability.

Ashland 27

Raceland 12

I believe Fairview and Raceland were both offered a shot at the Devils.

Raceland took the chance.

Rams get their chance at the Devils the 10th week.

Be careful what you wish for.

And that will be discussed in that week, this week is Raceland and Ashland.

Good luck to Coach Vanderhoof and the Rams.

I don't know but I have my doubts due to some health concerns.

This oldramblers wheels are bad, getting more and more rust that is tough to move around, the rear end drags, transmission sometimes goes out and leaks gas :D

Ramblers get old but they still will be going when nothing else will. ;)

Oh wait  , you were talking about the car....never mind....

Don't let him fool you, the Rambler still has some fuel in the tank, and he still has some spark in those plugs.:D Plus, as long as Raceland is playing he will be there at heart.
