Who wins Friday's contest?

There has been a lot of interest in pre-game thread, but there has been a lot of other discussion in it too. I hope this thread deals with the game.

With the temp's Friday expected to reach the mid 90's, has the KHSAA instructed the officiating crews or coaches that extras To's will be called to allow players to hydrate to help avoid any heat related problems or is this something that is discussed and agreed upon by both teams before game time?

Either way, I think it is a good idea as the players safety should always be first.

I'm sure both coaching staffs have made a point to express the importance of proper hydration and the players have been following their advice all week.

^ I agree and I would think that the officials would be well aware of this and take the proper safety measures. Also, is there heat index factor on a game to whether they may have to delay or reschedule if the heat index is over a certain number? With temps predicted in te 100's on Friday this will be a factor if nor THE factor.

I picked Rams winning in a close one. It was my homer pick:lol:

Both teams are very much equal as they are replacing a lot of talent lost to graduation and players are playing new positions.

Good luck to both teams and I hope all players play injury free.

Since I don't make picks on any of Raceland's games I chose to close to call just to participate :thumb: . I am glad you started this one and I, like you Graybeard hope that it stays on the game between Ashland and Raceland. ;)

Strike3 posted this link. If the heat index is above 104 the game has to be delayed or postponed. I would say that is why the game was moved to 8pm.

I picked Raceland in a close one. I think it will be a really good football game. I am excited to see what both teams will have this year. Both will mature fast, and be different teams come mid season after both gain some experience for the new starters and the players in new position.

Again, the ONLY ones that seem to have problem with it are Russell fans and why should you (Russell fans) even care?? That is what cracks me up. You guys seem to be so full of hatred for Ashland that you can't stand anyone that compliments them. If Raceland has had no problem with the arrangement then why does Russell ??- how is a Raceland / Ashland series any of Russell's business? Probably bc Raceland would not agree to the same deal with Russell and they can't stand it, I am not sure. I do not blame them and I would in no way agree to that with Russell either, JMO.

I knew the Raceland/Russell thing would get bad but I thought that it would be closer to the actual game. This again is Raceland vs. Ashland and it has drawn more attention from Russell people than their own game. I am glad you are Raceland and Ashland fans :D

Its anybody's business because this is an open forum. Its not just for Raceland and Ashland fans. Sometimes topics come up during the course of a thread that warrents discussion. If it wasn't of consequence then NOBODY would talk about.

I know the Greenup Russell game was moved to 8:30 just for this reason. You may find that a lot of these games will not be able to start until around 8:30 anyway. I for one am glad to see that a proactive approach is being taken to protect all involved.

Let's keep the discussion on the great rivalry game, so we can keep this thread open!

Raceland goes home with two in a row. Very close.

I agree 100%, Like I said, it had been recheduled for 8 but I would really like to see it at 8:30 or 9. Safety of the players, band members, cheerleaders and fans should be of most importance.

I was kind of hoping that they would keep the start time at 7:30 PM for this game. Then I could go over to Putnam and watch the Rams score a couple of time before I had to go and pick up the Boss.

I really think this is going to be a good game. Maybe the best in town.

You can come anyway, we won't tell anyone.:D I will have my radio, you can listen to the Russell/Greenup game. You could be our good luck charm, we'll need all the help we can get.
