Just an interesting tidbit from the today's Apallachian News Express. Former Miami Dolphins QB and current co-owner of the East Kentucky Miners CBA basketball team, Jay Fiedler will be taking in the game.

I personally think this one will be too close to call... had Belfry returned more experience in their secondary and another O-lineman then it would be no-brainer.. but as it stands Corbin matche sup very well with the Pirates.

Any injury reports in Redhound Country? I know the Pirates are definately without Zach Smith, their 6'4 Split End who is one of their top reserves at that position, also Will Southerland, our top returning O-lineman Will Southerland is going to be almost a gametime decision.

The only starter that I know of that is out is Corey Sewell, who was the Hounds second leading receiver last year and also started at CB. Is Guy Lewallen also out?

Thanks, D.J. is a Medical red shirt this year hoping all goes well.

This should be a very competitive ballgame. However, when you factor in travel time, the heat...in which I wouldn't be surprised to see a 10:00 PM kick-off for this game..and the fact that it's being played at Belfry. I think Corbin will be very hard presses to pull out a victory.

Something tells me that special teams will be playing a huge role in this game. Boy am I glad that we have got Earnest back at kicker and May back punting. You never know, it could be a field goal that makes the difference in this one.

It's not that interesting. He's just there to promote the Miners and try to sell season tickets....He's going to be at Pikeville Saturday night also.

It s not that interesting to me either he s basketball and this is football Now if Peyton MANNing were to be there?????????

He was an NFL QB?

It's pretty interesting to me when a former starting NFL quarterback is at a high school game in Pike County.

With the heat I don't see it being a high scoring game.

Does anyone know who will be announcing since Mr Phillips is still in the hospital?

Belfry 2-1 in the poll.. I think it is a closer game than that.

It's to close to call they are just more Belfry fans than anybody else.

Honestly nobody knows what to expect.

I will say Corbin is better than they get credit for, they are fast and big, can run and pass. They are the real deal and a complete package, Belfry better bring their A game if they plan on getting the victory

I didnt know Mr. Phillips was in the hospital. Wonder who will be announcing the games?
