I've heard the midday meal called lunch by some and dinner by others. Likewise, I've heard the evening meal called dinner by some and supper by others. Are there "geographical tendencies" here?

I always call my midday meal lunch, but my dad has always called the midday meal dinner. I've heard alot of older people call it that.

I just call it time to eat...:thumb:

"Lunch and supper" for me.

Lunch and supper for me, but for some reason, when I eat out for the evening meal, I say "Let's go out to dinner."

I have lunch at work, come home and say;Is supper ready?:lol:

My dad has always called midday meal dinner, mining thing I think.

Its always been dinner for me. The term supper seems to be a verb to describe someone, to me.

I do the same thing. Lunch at midday, supper at evening unless we have company or go out, then it's dinner. Must be a hillbil...er, Appalachian-American thing.
