July 31, 200719 yr The Red Sox want Dye too... Funny how the Yanks would get bashed for trying to pull off these moves with a ginormous payroll... Sounds like the deal is dead...
July 31, 200719 yr Jo-Jo Reyes AND Yunel Escobar has been offered to the Reds for Arroyo... He GONE!!! I have already branded Schuerholz as a fool. If he makes this trade, he should be shot.
July 31, 200719 yr True, but i believe they want to keep Phillips at 2nd so his offense won't drop. Cantu can play some short can't he?Cantu's defense has been subpar at every position.
July 31, 200719 yr I have already branded Schuerholz as a fool. If he makes this trade, he should be shot. He does have a knack for getting rid of 'prospects' that don't pan out and acquiring guys that help...
July 31, 200719 yr The Braves will not make the playoffs this year. If they make it next year, it will be because of Francoeur, McCann, and Johnson and not because of the contributions of Teixeira. Schuerholz has devastatingly harmed the future solely in an effort to win one more division (for his personal hall of fame resume, of course). Teixeira will be gone after next season so the cupboard was emptied for a 14 month rental. Dotel has had arm trouble this year and is a two month rental since he can be a free agent in October. Those who think the Braves didn't give up their future are obviously not familiar with the status of the Braves's farm system. Nor, for that matter, do they have any direct knowledge of Andrus and Harrison. One should be informed rather than a cheerleader if one seeks to analyze a trade. A couple of the above posters are the latter rather than the former. You obviously don't know the Braves like you are stating. Listen as a life long Braves fan yes, this may seem like a bad move on the Braves part but it is far from it. Teixeira is a great pickup and I can guarantee you that they make the playoffs now. They now have the best lineup in the NL and with the pickup of Dotel they have another good pitcher in the bullpen. Another thing is that if you were a Braves follower you would know that John Schurholz is probably the best GM in the business and can you name a trade of prospects that have came back to haunt him? I didn't think so, Braves know their farm system. I know how good Harrison and Andrus CAN BE, Andrus is still growing and he isn't all that good right now, it takes time and the Braves want to win now. You know it's funny how bad your dogging the Braves but check this out. This year is the first year in a long time that they've had a really good pick in the draft but somehow they've got one of the best farm systems in baseball, it's because they know what and how to draft players, so expect the Braves to once again draft great talent to develop in their system. So before you go branding the Braves organization you may want to check about what you're saying!
July 31, 200719 yr If Wayne doesn't take the trade for Arroyo he deserves to be fired right now.... That would lock up are infield for the next 8 years with E5 escobar phillips and Votto, and would give us 5 young starters and 3 lefties (Bailey,Dumratit sp?, Livingston, Maloney, and Reyes) and with Harang leading that staff, It would be quite a good pitching rotation.

July 31, 200719 yr The Fathers aren't messing around... Stockpiling the bench. So now that awful offense can make more substitutions. They gave away Linebrink for nothing...
July 31, 200719 yr Morgan Ensberg traded to Padres... Average third baseman for the Padres since Caminiti retired, take 24.
July 31, 200719 yr If the Braves have offered Reyes and Escobar for Arroyo and Krivsky turns it down, the man will be sealing his fate.
July 31, 200719 yr Average third baseman for the Padres since Caminiti retired, take 24. But they have two of them right now...
