July 26, 200719 yr The Sox have only allowed 4 runs to the Indians in 3 games. If they continue to get pitching like that they'll be fine. Besides the Yankees don't get to play the Devil Rays and Royals the whole rest of the schedule. The Sox do have 15 games out of their last 61 against the D-Rays. I acknowledge that and being a Yankee fan I would much rather be in the Sox position thasn te Yanks right now. Both have faily easy schedules the rest of the way out I believe. All I was saying was in the words of ol' Yogi - It Ain't Over till it's Over.

July 26, 200719 yr The WC seems to be the Yanks best shot, unless the BoSox have a few more games like last night's. Carmona pitched a gem. I believe that the Yanks have scored 63 runs in the last 5 games. They are on a tear, to say the least.

I will have to say that if the Yankees continue to average over 12 runs a game the rest of the year there is nothing the Red Sox or any team can do to stop them. I just don't think that'll be the case, however if their left handed batters continue to produce they'll be in the playoff mix until the end.
July 26, 200719 yr Don't get ur hopes up, the Sox pitching will tame all of that hitting. If you are a Sox fan you better hope it does. There is more than enough time left in the season for the Yanks to be back on top. I would not count them out as yet. As Oldrambler and Yogi say, "it ain't over til it's over".

July 29, 200719 yr Hey Red Sox!!! Your lead is 9. And we're 9 games further into the season than when this thread was started. If the Red Sox just go 29-29 the rest of the way the Yankees have to go 38-21 to tie, that's a .745 winning percentage. Its getting later than you think Yankees fans.........

Yeah, they really made Tampa Bay and Kansas City look bad... Go Sox!!!
July 30, 200719 yr The EVIL EMPIRE should have made some trades because the current squad will be watching the playoffs on tv with the rest of us. Of cousre this means the baseball season will have been a good one.
