Could this be the best contract in the history of pro sports? I mean, not that he wouldn't be in the first place, but this guy is set up for the next quarter century!

I just read that and I couldn't believe it. You figure most players are set up to support their families long after they pass away. But his contract would be able to support his grandkids grandkids. :lol:

That is a lot of money to say the least!!! I am a huge fan of Ichiro. He can flat out play the game of baseball and has always carried himself with class.

He is one of the best players that I have ever watched play.

I would think he brings in a lot of fans that baseball in America didn't have. He is very unique.

You think someone pulling in that much money would not need those extra perks. A guy making 15-20 million a year really doesn't need 32,000 for housing.

 

Plus doesn't he have enough money to buy his own vehicle and fly his family into the US.

 

I can see them paying an interpreter for him but not the other things.

I know of Ichiro what you all know he is a great baseball player... but let me try to get something straight. He has been in the US playing ball for some time now. All that money, all those perks, and he still doesn't speak english? I guess that shows how hard up MLB teams are for a guy who can hit .300 and steal a lot of bases!

No i'm suggesting your taking it entirely the wrong way. It was a comical statement if you read into what I said. How many other jobs in the US do you know that we will pay a guy who can't speak english that kind of money? As I clearly said he has a great skill. He has been on my fantasy team for 3 straight years now. I just thought it was funny. American sports owners will pay or do almost anything to get the guy they want. As long as he hits, runs, and plays OF.. he can sit in isolation all day after the game huh?
