I don't like guns. I have hunted in the past and have owned a gun. But, since being married and having kids, I traded the gun for a very big baseball bat. And I have 3 baseball players in the house which means that there are more bats.

I forgot to mention that the would be intruders would have to get through 2 very big dogs, as well.

I have a question...If the room mate had his papers for the gun, couldn't he have shot them since they busted in the house?

 

We talked to the cops about that afterwards. They said he would have been within his rights to bust a cap.

ON the bright side, judging from what you have told us, it shouldn't be too hard for the cops to track down the guys. They weren't very smart about it.

It was actually the gun that saved the night. I'm sure there would have been an all-out brawl if the gun had not been pulled. It probably prevented someone from getting seriously injured.

Watusi gave you some great advice. It sounds like this incident has just begun and the punks will be back.

You were very fortunate no one was hurt. It's incidents like this that make me glad that we have a right to own a firearm. If not for ther gun, things may have turned out very bad.

That's crazy. Girl troubles over and over. But I mean the girl almost had to have said something for them to find out that she'd been over there. But smart for the roommate to realize that the house's occupants were in jeopardy and pulled out a gun. Also smart to not pull the trigger in fright. I know some people would have pulled the trigger just because of nerves and sudden movements. The house should be under police watch for the next couple of weeks. But don't let your gf go back there.

Be glad the roommate had a gun, he could have just saved everyones lives.

I am also glad that the person had a firearm, imo it would had been a lot different outcome if not. I'll let the anti-gun bleeding hearts cry all they want. Situations like this back up "the right to own a firearm". JMO but I would get my girlfriend out of there and keep her out of there. As others have said, it sounds like it is probably not over.
