Campbell County's New Coach????

Featured Replies

If they are not confidential than who is aplying?

Not going to say. My point simply to suggest there are others than those talked about. The camel riders have to wait until it is official. I do know the "involved" are not being consulted.

Just as it should be, this is a decision between the AD and his team that he assembles to help with the interview/decision process. That is what they are getting paid for and I am sure that they will choose wisely.

Would that be the coach at Highlands? Do you suppose Coach Schlarman would like a return to the 10th Region? He would definitely be a good fit for the Camels.

Is it too tough to win at Highlands....too much of a football school?

Willie has a pretty good froup of Soph's to be that seemed to have some basketball only kids in the group.

There have been some great names mentioned in this thread. I believe any of the coaches would do an excellent job for the Camels.

I look for Russell to be a strong candidate due to Campbell being his alma-mater and his ex-coach Jones being the current AD...

On a side note:

BGGreen, you quoted me and said that "some of us have been all over Code in the past"...

I know you are not referring to me because I think very highly of The Codes and KNOW that they are excellent basketball coaches. I have never said a negative thing about Code, so please get your facts straight or at least don't use a quote from me when trying to make a point...

I think Coach Schlarman loves the intensity of 10th Region basketball. It one of the most competitive regions in the state. I could be totally wrong, I have been before, but that is my reasoning as to why he might be interested.

Not to speak for BG, he can defend himself, but I believe only the beginning of his post was referring to your quote.

Very interesting!!!

When Willie was at Brossart he always told me that there were two jobs that he would leave Brossart for - Highlands (which he did) or Campbell County.

Maybe things are just too tough at Highlands and a return to the 10th Region, especially with a school that has the potential of Campbell County might be more attractive.

Willie's taking over at Campbell County would also add some spice to the Brossart - Campbell County rivalry. He and Mike Code are great friends and confidants.

Whether you like or dislike Willie or his style - he gets results.

My gut guess is that IF Willie wants the job, can get out of his contract at Highlands, and if they have a math opening in the school system that he will be the next head coach of the Campbell County Camels.

And I would never talk to him ever again. As a matter of fact, I'd have to ask him for the wedding present that I gave him. :D

It is between the principal and the team she puts together that will include the ad but he does not have final say.

Come on everybody, we've talked about current Brossart Coaches and a former Brossart coach but we have left out a "Crosstown Legend Coach" and a family favorite. The one man who has stood the test of time through the entire rivalry with his intensity and in your face attitude, his name...Robert "Bobby" Rowe!!! He has coached under Willie and Mike so he has had the best of both worlds.

Willie Schlarman is not going anywhere. He is coaching at his alma mater and has some up and coming players in the Soph class as well as a nice group of seniors coming back. Plus the Highlands folks would never let him live it down leaving for CC. Willie has his own taste of 10th region physicality, come and watch one of his practice because from what I hear there are plenty of bloody noses.

You're right, and as usual MY facts are straight!! I meant no reference to you, but simply used your quote, as you were bringing up Mike's name as a candidate. The offenders know who they are, and I just found it amusing that those who have jumped all over the Codes the last year or two; now find them to be excellent candidates to take over their program??

The 9th region is pretty competitve and intense as well??

On another note, I wonder if the Camel faithful who filled these pages with their dislike of "Willie Ball" as something almost illegal, when he was using defense and a ball control offense to get the best of the Camels at little Brossart; will change their tune if he were to bring his act to Claryville??
