Situation with Sullivan a few years back might make some coaches uncomfortable but the facilities and school size would seem to be pretty enticing.

 

How about a hire from within the district? Good time for Code to leave Brossart, is not going to have another group come thru like last years senior class for a few years, if ever.

Don't know about that one... They're both happy where they are, but Scott may look to get a head coaching job... He's the best CCHS could get IMO. Very knowledgable and a great coach... The Codes know their basketball...

The Sup. that caused all the changes in the Sullivan era is long gone, and the principal that caused the football coach and AD to leave is gone now too. The new principal is more athletically inclined and I think it would be a great place to coach if indeed Reitz is leaving.

 

The removal of Mr. Sullivan was justified. Anyone around the school knows the issues. The superitendent did the right thing. Mr. Sullivan took advantage of a lot of trust in this school and some people paid a price in many ways. He is and was the problem. The new principal will make all the difference and with a few names already asking about the CCHS job, there is no question a solid name will appear. A couple being out of the area with solid and successful backgrounds. Best of luck Coach Reitz, it is hard to turn away when someone keeps coming back after being told no asking again with more dollars each time and having your son as the big carrot. We all understand and wish you well.

I don't know if he is interested, but Code teaches in the Public Schools still, so the move to Campbell would allow him to teach and coach at the same place again!

 

I believe the new principal is a huge asset to athletics in general at Campbell! She'll know that the home football games are played at Bob Miller stadium, not Paul Brown Stadium....

 

Mike teaches at Highlands, and it would be doubtful he'll give that up; along with having a pretty good situation at BBHS!! He's had a good deal of success at Brossart, but did lose a ton to graduation. Scott is however in the CC school system, and if he has head coaching aspirations; would be a great choice for Campbell. Certainly would make for an interesting Crosstown Shootout this year!!

 

Kinda interesting that some of you who've been all over the Code's the last few years, now think they'd be great additions to YOUR coaching ranks?? :confused:

If I were Campbell County, I'd make it a point to talk with Brad Carr. If I were Scott, I'd make it a point to let Coach Carr know that we want him to stay at Scott.

 

Brad Carr is an excellent coach who is VERY well respected not only in NKY, but among most all coaching circles in Kentucky. He knows his stuff, teaches the game, and gets the most out of his kids. Watching Scott H.S. play last season was watching a team that is well coached and disciplined.

If I was CC he would be my choice too. We do not play them in regular season , but in the regional tourney they have given us all we can handle....I really respect him and what he has done at Scott.

I know for a fact that both Buddy Biggs and Chad Simms have both said no.

I think Brad Carr would be a good fit. They need someone in there that is going to get in the kids' grill and make them work. They have some nice talent coming up in the middle school and Carr would get the most out of those kids. Plus he is a younger guy who the kids could relate to a little better possibly. Nothing against Reitz, he has had a great career in coaching but obviously he felt more comfortable in HC so best of luck.

 

I doubt Code goes anywhere, Brossart is a basketball factory year in year out as of late.

Time to apply for position ends on the 19th and we have tossed about quite a few candidates and some speculation about who has said no but who has actually applied?:confused:
