September 12, 200719 yr Edmonds would have needed to be having a beer on the boat to catch that Salami from #44.
September 12, 200719 yr Hopefully Mulder sticks one in his ribs this AB to Dunn so we can see a fight. I may have mentioned this before. The fact that this team has not had a meeting with a team at the mound is sad.
September 12, 200719 yr I may have mentioned this before. The fact that this team has not had a meeting with a team at the mound is sad. Let The Donkey catch one in the Ribs leading off the bottom of the 5th and I can GUARANTEE you that will have changed. How about the stat earlier, Dunn is 5th All-Time for most home runs in a player's first 7 seasons (Pujols, by the way, is 2nd All-Time). Like him, hate him, that is strong. Not for nothing, but he is about 50 ahead of Junior after his first 7 seasons.
September 12, 200719 yr I may have mentioned this before. The fact that this team has not had a meeting with a team at the mound is sad. That is true. I would imagine a lot of guys running away from Dunn. Harang is a monster too, but he is so timid.
September 12, 200719 yr Again, logic would say you're right. Unfortunately, stats do not back it up. Sorry it took so long for me to get back on subject. My argument against your stats argument is that if Dunn never struck out he would hit a lot higher than .270. So you and I are arguing differnet things. If the question is if he would change his 200+ K's to different kinds of outs then it may not be a big difference like you're pointing out. But if he's hitting over .350 when he puts the ball in play that's an insane difference.
September 12, 200719 yr From Trent's blog (I don't usually do this but I laughed out loud when I read this): Dunn hits it off the ad board just below the new Steamboat deck. Wow. 5-1. That was -- wow. 101 RBIs now for Dunn. 471 is the estimated distance on that homer. Wow. EE walks. But hey, I'm sure that sandwich pick will give you 101 RBIs next year.
September 12, 200719 yr Dunn, keeps getting it done but it doesn't matter....I'm going to reveal the problem to many Reds fans....Pitching. Not Dunn. :sssh:

Mine was aimed at those not happy with HOW Dunn gets out.

September 12, 200719 yr How much better would Dunn's numbers be if he batted in front of BP instead of in front of EE?
September 12, 200719 yr Dunn with two homers tonight, one of them being a BIG SLAM!!!!!! That's 38 homers and 101 RBI's for those of you keeping track at home. Trade the bum.     I still don't like him...
