My mother was a Colonel due to her published poetry about Kentucky. My brother is a Colonel due to his work with the Shriners in assisting underprivileged children.

July 10, 200719 yr Kentucky colonel is an honorary title bestowed upon individuals by approval of the governor of Kentucky. It requires no duties, and carries with it no pay or other compensation other than membership in the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Maybe it meant 1.8 based on what people have posted in this thread. Interestingly enough, Joan Crawford and Sammy Haggar are Colonels.
July 10, 200719 yr They sent the offer to my Dad and Grandpa but neither knew what they did to qualify. My brother used to say that it was like being in a company where you were vice president in charge of nothing.
