We are trying to promote the good Clint Eastwood movies. You are going to scare them away...

Foiled again. I thought you meant only "High Plains Drifter". My wife insists Clint isn't a ghost but he has SIX shots in his chest, NOT HIS TOE, I tell her...and the bounty hunter says "the man I knew that you described is dead." Also, "Behold a pale horse...and death sits on him...(Can't remember the quote). Clint's on a pale horse. Anyway, it is just like Shane with all kinds of clues about Clint already being dead...but my wife says he is just a good ole preacher who came in and saved everybody and happened to be good with a gun.

 

I really never thought about it until a buddy pointed it out. Makes a lot of sense and makes the movie that much better. Have a down weekend coming up and I'm going to get "The Beguiled" to watch.

I really liked "Million Dollar Baby" and "Space Cowboys". Of course all the spaghetti westerns he did are classics.

 

I saw that a new Dirty Harry was in production. It will feature Eastwood of course, Laurence Fishburne and Gene Hackman. Should be interesting.

I recently watched Letters from Iowa Jima, directed by Eastwood. It is entirely in subtitles, but was really a surprisingly excellent movie if you are looking for a good war pic.

Escape from Alcatraz is one of my favorites, but The Good, Bad and the Ugly is the best.

When I first heard that one I used it for years and still today I might use it.

 

I love that scene.

Then he draws his six shooter and shoots 9 men off a fence. Unbelievable! :lol:

I think The Outlaw Josey Wales is his best western, but I will watch any of them when possible.

 

His Dirty Harry movies were great too. I believe in the first one Jim Carey played in his first movie role as a drug addicted rock star who was murdered.

That's one of my father's favorite movies. My favorite Clint Eastwood movie is The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Cliche' that that's my favorite, but it's just a masterpiece.

I know it is TV, but we can't let this pass without mentioning the more than 200 episodes of Rawhide where Clint played Rowdy Yates.

Then the Harry series. I said "Lets rent them"

 

We saw "Once upon a Time in the West" last nite. he said "It was good, but Clint was better. He asked me "did the Bronson guy (Harmonica) make any more movies?" So I know some, so how about some great Charles Bronson movies? I know the first two "Death Wish" are probaby his most famous.

 

I guess I need to buy one of those "Movie Books".

 

I have "Deliverence" on tape but it is the cut version.

 

I'll be doing this again when my 10 year old gets older.

Charles Bronson's best Western was probably one of his first, "The Magnificent Seven", made in 1960.
