June 6, 200719 yr Sitting on the river bank with family and friends Late afternoon boat cruses. The whippie dip. The Fourth of July. Mud slides. Bonfires on the river bank at night. Watching the fireflies light up the trees like Christmas lights in the country. The sound of the waves on the river bank.

For summer classes, it's really not all that far-fetched. I had a class where we didn't have to take a final because the instructor's wife was having medical problems.
June 6, 200719 yr Summer suppers. Grilled sirloins, homemade potato salad (Mrs. mcpapa makes THE BEST), corn on the cob, sliced tomatoes and strawberry shortcake. Went to the produce auction in Lewisburg last night and picked up a mess of new potatoes, peas, green tomatoes, strawberries as well as a whole trunkload of flowers. Baseball. The woes of the Redlegs notwithstanding, there's something about sitting on the back porch listening to the ballgame on the radio on a summer evening. Summer vacation. We usually try to get to my parents' house in St. Augustine for at least a week; and maybe a side trip to Tennessee. Hanging out with the neighbors. We seem to do a lot more of this in the summer. Swimming. Even though we only have a little 18' above-ground pool; it's very relaxing. And I live close enough to work to paddle around for 20 or 30 minutes at lunchtime if I take a notion. Buildup for Football. The countdown should already be starting...
