June 6, 200719 yr Summer suppers. Grilled sirloins, homemade potato salad (Mrs. mcpapa makes THE BEST), corn on the cob, sliced tomatoes and strawberry shortcake. Went to the produce auction in Lewisburg last night and picked up a mess of new potatoes, peas, green tomatoes, strawberries as well as a whole trunkload of flowers. Baseball. The woes of the Redlegs notwithstanding, there's something about sitting on the back porch listening to the ballgame on the radio on a summer evening. Summer vacation. We usually try to get to my parents' house in St. Augustine for at least a week; and maybe a side trip to Tennessee. Hanging out with the neighbors. We seem to do a lot more of this in the summer. Swimming. Even though we only have a little 18' above-ground pool; it's very relaxing. And I live close enough to work to paddle around for 20 or 30 minutes at lunchtime if I take a notion. Buildup for Football. The countdown should already be starting... My son had a girlfriend from Ohio, I told her we were going to my mothers to pick a "mess of beans". Poor girl, you would have thought I was talking a different language.....she had no clue what I ment......:lol: :lol:
June 6, 200719 yr While my summers are filled with work..(kind of like Rockmom's Derby ) :irked: ..... I love summer. I love the sun, the water, grilling out, drinking cold chilly's, the beach (have to picture it in my mind)....most of all nothing makes me feel better than a nice bronzed tan!!!

June 6, 200719 yr You have that all year round! No, not like I do now brother...look like I just came back from the islands.. I know I complained about alot of work in the summer but becuase I get to be outside so much...the tan is a perk in my job.
