May 31, 200719 yr With all the news about Billy D heading to Orlando, I found this tidbit from FoxSports interesting. If Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley does opt to go with Grant, it's likely that the top recruits Nick Calathes and Chandler Parsons will honor their committments to Florida. However, point guard Jai Lucas, the son of former NBA coach and player John Lucas, could opt to go elsewhere now that Donovan is leaving. Kentucky is considered an option for Lucas. Lucas So what say you Cat fans? If Jai Lucas wants to come to UK after all, does BCG accept? And would you want him here after initially passing on the Cats?
May 31, 200719 yr If Grant comes to FLA...Lucas will stay..."write that down" (fingers crossed) If you are right you can claim you have an "inside source" who told you this would happen.
May 31, 200719 yr I personally wouldn't want him, knowing we were his 2nd choice..Sure, he would be nice to have, but, imo, UK should decline if that opportunity did present itself...
May 31, 200719 yr Did he grow any while he's been at Florida??? May as well hold out now and see what the next-big-thing is for '08, IMO. He's made a choice knowing that Donovan to the NBA was a VERY REAL possibility. Let him wallow. His dad's comments right after the signing make me wary. Sounds like John could be a real fly in the coach's ointment wherever the kid plays. We've had enough turmoil.
May 31, 200719 yr Unless a rule has changed that I'm not aware of, they are committed to Florida, once they sign and "must be released from their NLI", not opt out, unless willing to sit out.

May 31, 200719 yr Rather not have him either. He didn't wanna be here in the first place. Classic Kentucky thinking.
May 31, 200719 yr I would think a school would release a player from their LOI if the coach who signed the player took another job two weeks later.
May 31, 200719 yr Classic Kentucky thinking. It's not classic it's called loyalty. When Corey Dillion through his pads in the stands and said he didn't wanna be here I was glad to see him to go. I am in all or none person. Your with me or my team or your not. Each person can choose where they want to be. If they don't wanna be with my team after bad luck with another, oh well. So open up your UK blind spot.
