May 21, 200719 yr ABC's morning show said that some places in the U.S. are already over $4.00 per gallon. IMO family vacations this summer will be slim to none. The tourism industry will take a big hit.

May 21, 200719 yr I heard on the news that here in Ohio all businesses have taken a hit because of the high fuel cost. Restaurants and retail have taken the biggest hits. I also heard it will be 4.00 a gal this weekend.
May 21, 200719 yr If it goes to $10 a gallon we're all going to have to buy it. Sad but true. Nothing we can do and thats the real problem. They have us buy the shorties.

Lets say gas is now $1 higher per gallon than it was last year . Is $54 going to stop you and your family from taking a vacation? $100? I realize some families have tight funds but IMO if $100 is going to stop you from a family vacation, maybe it wasn't the right thing to plan in the first place.

It won't stop me, I've already been to St. Pete, Fla. this spring. But I have heard several people in my area say they'll be taking short vacation trips this summer, probaby in-state. I know it cost me nearly $60 to drive my van to Ashland and back last week, about a 3 hour trip.
May 22, 200719 yr The more the price goes up the more other businesses are hurting does anyone see anything being done about this as this trend continues? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070522/ap_on_bi_ge/oil_prices;_ylt=AktQTTUY_w9Gk1lDpbut90ayBhIF http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070521/us_nm/usa_gasoline_price_dc
