Top WR's this year in '07

Featured Replies

Those numbers are unreal, will Somerset be able to replace Deaton with a quality passer for '07?

Let's just get one thing straight. CHASE ALL WILL BE FINE FILLING THE SHOES OF ROSS DEATON. I am tired of everyone bringing up this question. If anyone watched somerset football 2 years ago you saw Chase was a good quareterback. I dont think the Jumpers could have beat Lynn Camp without Hall last year. He is a very smart quarterback that will make up for his what you all say lack of arm strength. Also I don't know if you happened to watch Somerset at all in 2006. John Cole caught the ball if it was thrown anywhere in his direction. He is hands down the best reciever in the state. I'll take his speed, skills, and work ethic over anybody. So in closing I think we need to forget about Ross Deaton he has graduated and Chase Hall will take over. He will do just fine also.

5'11" but out jumps everyone that goes up with him

170? goes over the middle and takes the tough hits

4.5-4.6? I've never saw a player gain on him, without having the angle on him.

Ask NCC about him, he was incredible in the semi-finals loss to Newport Catholic.

He is a high 4.4 low 4.5

Thanks for the info, I don't know much about the Jumpers but I did watch them in '05 against NCC and they have a nice program, best of luck to the new QB. And I agree about Cole he was a fine WR from what I saw, both teams were solid at the WR spot in that game.

Jumperpride needs to take a deep breath and settle down a little bit. John Cole set the single season record last year for yards and touchdowns in a season. His place in the panthenon of receivers in the state is secure. Chase Hall will be a good replacement for Ross Deaton but he won't quite be the same and I don't think Somerset will be quite as good this year either. I think they should win the district title and come up with 8-10 wins but Cole shouldn't be viewed as a disappointment if he doesn't break his own records. He's the best high school wide receiver I've seen but I don't think Chase Hall will give him quite as many chances as Ross did. EIther way with those 2 records set last year I think he has to be viewed as the best in the state until someone can prove otherwise.

Thanks, I wasn't sure on his speed, and I didn't want to over/under state it.

Regardless, its still fast!

Look for big numbers out of the Trimble Co. duo of Jesse Peters and Larry Sullivan.

Nathan is a lot of fun to watch. When he catches the ball there isn't a whole lot of people that can catch him. As far as tommy goes he is also a play maker and very exciting to watch. they will both play a huge part this year for SK. I heard a rumor that tommy might be sharing the QB role with pat bustle. But you know rumors:sssh:

I dont think its a rumor. Ive seen Gibson and Bustle both get reps in at QB, which should make for an explosive offense once you add Ponzer and company.

John Cole's 86 receptions for 1,848 yards and 29 TD's is not too shabby! But Lexington Henry Clay's Aaron Boyd with 40 receptions for 730 yards and five TD's gets my #1 vote... Henry Clay just plays at another level than Somerset football. D.L. Moore gets my vote for second. I had an opportunity to watch D.L. last year and his speed and heigth make him a work in progress for the next level. I think D.L. needs to add a little weight and work on the hands and he should be all set. I am looking for all three to have a great 2007 campaign for their respective schools.

Henson and Brown from Gallatin County had great seasons last year for the school's first season. Looking for big things from the two of them this year.

How good is DL Moore? My huskers recently offered him a scholarship and he has them in his top 2 right now and just trying to find out him.

D.L. Moore has POTENTIAL! No doubt he has speed, size (6'6") and the knack to get open, D.L. will need to add some considerable weight to play with the 'huskers. He dropped several well thrown balls, but my guess is with football and another basketball season to mature with, he will be D-1 ready. It will be fun to watch the man from B-Green.

Not Too Shabby? Those Stats are called "record breaking"

Tommy Gifford is an all around great athlete for lafayette. Speed is amazing!!! Look for him to be used more with the parting of chris tune. Also marquis clay should be used more this year. Thats only if dunbar doesnt run every down this year. Also Aaron Boyd will be great this year but Henry Clay always has some recievers step up. Remember Prince Stewart.
