I agree, my vote is with Elliot. Wish I had kept my own stats to back it up.

May have to agree .He did it again vs Holy Cross in a district seeding game Thusday night .Pitched remarkable to shut down the Indians again .

 

Another name being overshadowed by Elliott would be Brady Slusher .A sophmore who is quietly putting together a very good year

I don't think that the 9th region does it either, rather that it is the Northern Kentucky Athletic Conference [NKAC] It includes a few eighth and tenth region teams. I could be wrong.

Travis Hurd from Campbell County is hitting .500 and is near the top in many pitching stats.

I've OFFICIALLY decided to add Mr. Elliott to the Maile/Farris competition. While his stats are unavailable , it would seem he's worthy of the nomination.

The Kentucky Post and Cincinnati Enquirer name the POY for NoKy and publish it with their all NoKy teams at the end of the year. I do not believe it is limited to the 9th Region, but includes their principal circulation area, and I do not know if they select it or if it is a coaches vote. Anyone out there able to shed some light on Strike3's question?

I have watched a fair number of games and follow the papers, and I will tell you, compare the numbers of Garrett Wagner from Ryle to these others. He is a leadoff hitter so the RBI's and HR's are not there but other than that he is right there. I would like to see what his OBP is. His stats are in the enquirer today.

...I'll save my POY for whoever leads their team to the 9th region title. All mentioned are worthy candidates and any could end up as POY. But Coach of the Year has already been locked up @ HHS. He's resurrected a dormant program and has poised the Birds as a real threat in the region.

1. I've never really bought into the POY being the best player on best team concept. I understand the argument but I don't think it always applies.

 

2. Interesting race between the HHS coach (Johnson?) and Myerhoff.

I guess the operative word is "LEADS". With all the stats being somewhat equal (all the kids have played great)..I want to see the one who "takes the team on their shoulders" and carries them.
