Ky was never on his list...He already had a signed LOI and BCG wasn't going to recruit him to UK...As much as everyone wanted to see it, it wasn't going to happen, so, I doubt seriously the internet had anything to do with anything...

Direct quote from his friend.

The easiest way for the NCAA to control this issue is to ban all potiental recruits from having Myspace or Facebook sites. This would eliminate any fans from contacting them via the internet.

Right. And we should probably keep them from having cell phones, books & internet access.

This is just so hard to actually enforce. I mean you can tell them not to contact them but how do you stop them? And how do you know who they are really supporting too? I am sure that many UK fans email and message these guys but how can the school be held responsible for something that there is ZERO way of them stopping? I understand the importance of the rule but I still cannot see how the school can do anything about these actions

and with that being said how can a school be rightfully punished for something that is IMPOSSIBLE to control?

I'm glad you got the point! It is the NCAA who is stupid to think they should penalize schools for contact with recuits via the internet. Who truly knows who is contacting the potiental recruits through these sites. Recruting is truly becoming a nightmare for all concerned and its only going to get worse!

Any booster is prevented from contacting a recruit. If you buy a ticket, clothing, car flags or any other item that funds the athletic department you are technically a booster in the eyes of the NCAA. SO STOP CONTACTING RECRUITS in any way shape or form. That's what is pathetic...

From what I've read, the NCAA makes a distinction between being a season ticket holder (booster) and not being a season ticket holder (not a booster).

So what are they going to come and search your house now to se if you have any UK stuff.

Like I have said, I'm not sure what they can do if they can do anything. But any way you look at it, it's pathetic...

From what I gather, UK was first in the door with the offer for '07, and he really likes UK/BCG.
Looks like UK was never really ahead.

What is pathetic is how much it seems to be affecting you. Let it go man. If Kentucky gets burned, then we get burned.

You live & you learn. Until it's illegal, people are going to do it. And, sadly enough, even when it's illegal you'll get your fair share of people who are going to do it...

If you read any articles about the kid, you would know that UK was supposedely his top choice...It didn't work out... I was sure hoping...Any team can use an athletic 7' footer, for sure... Guess the bright lights in Vegas caught his eye and L.Kruger must have done a great job of selling the kid on his program....Congrats UNLV...Good luck to you ...

Apathy towards a major issue is pathetic as well...

Nice to know you guys get to pick what bothers me and what doesn't. Be pathetic, or defend the pathetic. I'll pass...
