It is almost impossible to say who the alleged fans actually are. They could say they are UK fans but who knows? This is one rule that it is impossible for the university to police. These people could be sending messages from anywhere on the planet.

Garbage excuse when it was said about the same issue with Patterson and a garbage excuse now. It's not others trying to make UK look bad. COULD it be? Sure. Is it? No...

Agree with you, but can it be contolled? Nope, sadly they are nothing that can be done about it.

Whats really ashamed is that having the most fans of any college team could come back to haunt the school...There really is no way to police it and if UK gets some kind of probation or loss of a player for something they have absolutely no control over, that would be sad.. I know it happens at other schools, but, to a lesser degree, because most schools dont have the rabid fanbase UK does... But, worse of all, the schools reputation will once again take a knock... We'll be known as Probation U, we are already to some, and the school will have done nothing...Sad, really sad...

He is right. The fact that is was UK fans makes no difference.:D Anyone could be doing it.

Anyone could be doing it.

But they aren't. At least not at this magnitude...

You guys keep telling yourselves whatever you need to....;)

Right but I think we might see it happen more now that it has come out to the public like this. For example UK fans contacting UL recruits saying they are UL fans. I am by no means sticking up for the people that do it.

Ok.

Houston prep star DeAndre Jordan was so turned off by 'recruiting' pitches made by UK fans via the Internet, a friend said it was one of the reasons he crossed the Cats off his list.

It is probably other people making outrageous remarks to turn these recruits minds. Come on and grow up. Real fans would not be the way you are making them out to be. Counter intelligence 101. Assume the enemy's position and steer them the wrong way?? It could happen. See what you want and hear what you want!

Man...This is gettin' good....

Nail meet head... :walk:

Ky was never on his list...He already had a signed LOI and BCG wasn't going to recruit him to UK...As much as everyone wanted to see it, it wasn't going to happen, so, I doubt seriously the internet had anything to do with anything...

The easiest way for the NCAA to control this issue is to ban all potiental recruits from having Myspace or Facebook sites. This would eliminate any fans from contacting them via the internet. The NCAA is stupid if they think they can control fans actions even if the alleged schools are trying their hardest to educate fans from trying to contact recuits. The NCAA must move into today's new world of technology and realize they have new issues they must address or every NCAA school could face probation.
