I wouldn't say I hate them, but I am planning a trip to try to see Boston Play this summer.

Growing up in Baltimore as a kid, it was pretty much ingrained to, if not hate, then at least strongly dislike the Yankees.

I would like to go to Fenway Park even I don't like the Sox and visit Wrigley also. These two ball parks are just gems of the American and National leagues and really have no changed much over the years, I guess Wrigley has changed the most since they added lights.

I am a Yankee fan. The Yankee Tradition is a proud one and really helps MLB be what it is today. D. Jeter also sets the tone for all major league players to follow. He is a class act and plays the game the way it was meant to be played.

I'm not a fan of the Yankees for many reasons, BUT you can't beat October baseball in Yankee stadium.

 

So while I don't want them to win, I really enjoy that atmosphere in the playoffs.

 

I know many of us here watched those Arizona playoff games in 2001 when the Yankees won on last second at bats. The Aaron Boone walk off home run. I don't like the word since it's overused, but Yankee baseball is "electric" in the playoffs, even if they haven't shown up in recent years. lol

I wouldn't root for the Yankees if they were playing the Taliban. Although I do respect their tradition and the professionalism of a lot of their players. (My dislike for their team prevents me from naming any of the aforementioned players).....

Or does anyone else hate the yanks like I do? Ive never liked them, never will. They've won ALOT more than anyone else in baseball could imagine, they have more money to waste than anyone else, more allstars, and of course dereck jeter:mad:. Im a hater but i cant help it. Btw there beating MY Indians right now 8-3 in the botton of the 4th.

When It comes to the Yankee's, count me in on the hating. I actually love the tradition of the Yanks, but the way Steinbrenner has Tyranized the MLB the past 25+ seasons has really turned me against them. Used to the Yankees would just dominate being that they were on the same level playing field as everyone else (up untill the late 70's). Now, they buy their championships and that is just unfair. I would rather see a team such as the Twins (small payroll) do well and succeed with home system players than the Yankees (who have a horrible farm system) that just goes out and buys the best they can. I mean you can't really blame the boss for doing what he does, I mean theres no salary cap, but thats not a good reason to like the Yanks for me. I guess you can say Ive always been more of a fan for the underdog, and I guess thats why I have my love for the Cubies.

On a side note, even though I hate the Yanks, I still have a ton of respect for Jeter, who is actually one of the few brought up through the Yankee farm system. He is all class, great leader, and a great short-stop. I also like A-Rod being I liked his game way back when he was teaming up with Jr. in Seattle, getting paid phat in Texas, so just because he went to the darkside doesn't mean I have to hate him does it? Plus, how can someone not like A-Rod after hes been this productive and collective all the while being under a gigantic microscope, and getting scrutinized with every move he makes?

They had an open base and should have walked him too. Also, the Yankees over the past several years have a lot of players on the team from their farm system. Jeter, Bernie Williams, Riveria, Robinson Cano, Cabrea, Pettite and many others. Actually when I was doing a radio show last year there was a caller who was a big Red's fan and he complained about the Yankees buying all of their players. Last year the Yankees had more home grown talent on their roster than the Reds did.

While I may not be fond of the "evil empire" I have found myself liking several of the Yankee players. I find it hard to hate Jeter, A Rod, Posada and Riviera. Also, Paul O'Neill is one of my favorite all-time MLB players.

Hate the YANKEES!
