June 7, 200719 yr Thought this was interesting...I didn't research it, so passing it along somewhat blindly: Team LOB: Reds (789) rank 9th in baseball with the most left on base. Oakland is No. 1 with a whopping 849. Who among us thought after last night the Reds' number would be about 8,416? Individual LOB: The Reds' leader is . . . Gonzalez with 97, tied for 5th in the NL. No other Redleg is in the top 10. The NL leader is Atlanta's Andruw Jones with 105; the MLB leader is Eric Oakland's Chavez with a staggering 114. I can't find any team stats for LOB but I did find that , to no one's surprise, the Reds are last as a team in ability to strand the other team's runners. So, if a team gets at least one runner on base, that team is more likely to score at least one run against Cincy (34% of the time) than any other NL team. They are tied with Tampa Bay and Texas for worst in MLB.

No, I think the Royals suck and cshs pointed out that they lose more close ones than the Reds. I think the Reds suck. It depends on who Narron is replaced w/. If the only way you can get Girardi is to do it now I would do it in a heart beat.

That depends on who and how they make moves at the deadline. Which is part of why you keep what you have in place until it has more (or any) value...

The Reds should just put you in charge of PR when a trade is made, someone is demoted or any questions on future moves. You seem to have a better idea than the front office does and you can explain things far better than they can. AND the best part about the deal is that they will start you at 10 dollars an hour with a dollar raise after 3 months! :lol:

The Twins success evolved over time. No question. I'm not convinced that Big Bob will give Jerry and/or WK years to see the fruit should any fruit be coming. He doesn't seem to be a patient guy and, like it or not, fan reaction may play into some of his decisions. Secondly, all bad teams try to mimic the success of successful teams that share their profile (ie Reds aren't going to mimic the Sox or Yanks but, rather , the Twins). However, the success rate isn't very high. I was all for WK when they hired him. I think his downfall are his words moreso than his actions. He either needs to completely go dark or not come out and , as LABS so eloquently put it, pee down our back and tell us its raining. We might not be GMs but we're also not blind, deaf, and dumb. He gives the impression that he thinks the fans are the latter.

If you're talking per season, which player may have some value etc. I agree. However, if you're gonna mire yourself with players that continue to have little to no trade value, what direction will that head us?
