June 7, 200719 yr It's unrealistic to even dream of so many things going wrong at the worst time. No mistake is left unturned as they drop game after game. The 2 or 3 a night always end up sinking the ship. How about some stability to develop the accountability a team needs. They suck. Stick with 25 guys and finish this thing out. Sell what you can in July and August at a solid market value. Make a serious run at a name manager in the off season. Time to face it. There is nothing that can be done to make the playoffs. It's over. No amount of change makes it better... What does the above have to do with your fascination over how close their losses are? ALL BAD MLB TEAMS LOSE A LOT OF CLOSE GAMES. This is why they suck!

Bad rosters get blown out. I see it every year. Why no beat downs? How often do you watch sports? A LOT! Is a roster that plays even the best tight, but cant seem to find a way to win an opponent you come away with a lot of respect for? Almost 50 days of bad baseball and they still fight hard every night. Too bad they can't find a way to lose by 6 every night. Talk about apathy. It's why we are still here even talking about this team...

Because its true these guys are a lot better than they way they are playing.I think when Eddie and Bray get back in the pen its going to be a whole different ball game.
June 7, 200719 yr Bad rosters get blown out. I see it every year. Why no beat downs? ... The first bad team I picked out has more close losses than the Reds. 1 run losses: KC 9 Cin 9 2 run losses: KC 8 Cin 8 3 run losses: KC 7 Cin 5 5+ run losses KC 11 Cin 9 They're the same because they both suck. I don't see anything unique to the Reds losses.

June 7, 200719 yr Not exactly a ringing endorsement for the peformance of Baseball Guy then. So which is it? I never said he was God. I said it's not all his fault but I agree he neds to be gone in the off season.
June 7, 200719 yr I never said he was God. I said it's not all his fault but I agree he neds to be gone in the off season. Maybe so. Maybe not. Maybe WK's assessment of the talent is the problem. I do think Jerry will be the fall guy before WK.
June 7, 200719 yr Maybe so. Maybe not. Maybe WK's assessment of the talent is the problem. I do think Jerry will be the fall guy before WK. I think WK has done a pretty fair job of bringing guys in here. Phillips, Bronson, Hamilton, Gonzo and the jury is still out on others. Lets give him more time than less than 2 years. Where would we be without Phillips and Gonzo this year?

Lets give him more time than less than 2 years. Where would we be without Phillips and Gonzo this year? Krivsky brought in Stanton who is 40. He brought in Conine who is 40, and released a kid named Brendan Harris who came over in the ballyhood Nats/Reds trade and is hitting over .300 for the Devil Rays. He invited DFA Victor Santos in. He invited DFA Dustin Hermanson in. He traded Justin Germano for Real Cormeyer (my best Joe Nuxall) who is now out of baseball. He built the bullpen and it has been dreadful. 12 days ago he said Homer Bailey wasnt ready.
June 7, 200719 yr They keep losing like they are and you'll still be here posting the talking points... By the time August rolls around I will be doing flyby's. Talking points? I'm sorry I must have missed the email sent out from the national committee. Drink the Kool-Aid that Krivsky and company are dispensing...soon that Kool-Aid with be spiked with Everclear Pure Grain to get people through the season.
