June 7, 200719 yr I don't understand the reluctance to change managers in midseason. Rose took over for Helms in 1984 and had four winning seasons. Davey Johnson took over for Tony Perez in 1993, had two winning seasons and won a division. Jack McKeon took over for Ray Knight in 1997 and had two second place finishes. Miley and Narron haven't worked out but it's not like there is a long history of midseason replacements not working out.
June 7, 200719 yr Author Rose, Johnson and Jack won how many NL Pennants or World Series titles? 1 playoff team in that bunch, right? Yippie. How about Sparky and Lou...
June 7, 200719 yr The Reds can't Pitch, especially out of the pen.:irked: Can't hit, especially with RISP.:irked: Can't field/catch the ball.:irked: Other than these "Minor" details, the Reds are a pretty dang good team. ....................

June 7, 200719 yr At least tonight was "Get Beat By Best Player In Game" night... Nope, it was get beat by another steady diet of meat balls served up by Reds pitching. (a standing theme with this team)
June 7, 200719 yr Author Talk about all or nothing  None even had a playoff series win. We aren't the Cubs...
June 7, 200719 yr None even had a playoff series win. We aren't the Cubs... True, but as bad as the Cubs have been, they have a postseason series win since 1990.
June 7, 200719 yr Here's the kicker...management tells us that things are going to be OK...long season, a lot of confidence in the players, so forth and so on. Krivsky saying, " I know we are a better ballclub than we are showing." Really? Don't take a leak down my back and tell me it is raining. They are blind. Castelenni said if the fans are unhappy then management is unhappy...the fans are not happy but management seems in denial. I don't know about blowing it up, but what they have is not working...16 under on June 6th, everyone sees it but management. Apathy.....
June 7, 200719 yr And yet they still stay in every game. Almost as impressive as the losing... Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. A big "L" is an "L".
June 7, 200719 yr Author So what do you change? What's the plan? Easy to complain when you don't actually have to find the talent...
June 7, 200719 yr I think though you need to be somewhat concerned that Narron has burned Arroyo up. 3 straight starts in May, with pitch counts of 117, 120 and 129. Since those three, he has been not so good. He's got a rubber arm.
June 7, 200719 yr Author Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. A big "L" is an "L". Think about it though. Everything sucks and they can't even just go ahead and get beat by a good margin on a regular basis. It's impressive...
June 7, 200719 yr You know an organization has problems when it's been so long that you can't even remember the players on the last playoff team.....I can name Reggie Sanders and Barry Larkin and that's it....
June 7, 200719 yr So what do you change? What's the plan? Easy to complain when you don't actually have to find the talent...It doesn't seem to be a problem in Milwaukee, Cleveland, Minnesota, and Atlanta where the homegrown talent is winning with a comparable payroll.
