Good stuff from C Trent...

POSTGAME: Nothing too exciting. Jerry: "If there’s a, right now our guys are trying so hard to make something happen as much as anything. I’m sure (Ross) looked up and saw nobody was covering and took off."

On Majewski: "We did not see anywhere near that velocity last year and that’s great to see. He looks like he can really help us. ... It was the guy we saw a couple of years ago."

Matt Belisle: "I think I’m so stubborn that I’m not going to give in out there. I think that’s an easy out, an easy way to look at it, when a team’s scuffling, to say it’s not going our way or every ball’s going to find a hole. I think that’s an excuse. You have to turn the page from every bad inning, every bad night and just be ready to go. I don’t know. We look up and the Nationals just took the series from us and that’s hard to take. But we’ve got Pittsburgh, so there’s no time to sulk."

Gary Majewski: "Physically, I’m 100 times better."

"Last year, I’d throw and it was still firm but it didn’t have the extra life and movement on it to get out in front. It’s night and day compared to last year."

"I’ve wanted to do that for eight months, or however long it’s been since the trade, almost a year, now, I guess. I’ve wanted to show the fans and my teammates that they made a good decision by bringing me over here. I’ll just take things from this, keep the ball down in the zone and good things will happen."

FYI, the Reds have a worse record than the Rangers, who didn't play today. The Reds are 18-30, the Rangers are 18-29. Just sayin'

And that's why he's a Hall of Famer -- Hal McCoy was sporting the pink Reds hat from Thursday night's Ladies' Night promotion and I mentioned to him that with the rhinestones, it was a very nice look for him. He laughed and said, "The team should have to wear these until they win a series."

You know what gets me in all of this.

No one is getting upset. You figure if someon really cared there would be a blowup. A coach...a player...someone.

Basically, what is happening has become acceptable.

Krivsky got mad and responded strongly that the ownership and team was not apathetic and that it was their lives.

But the behavior from management and the players is apathetic.

That's why I love Kenny Williams and Ozzy Guillen for the White Sox. Yes, they can throw money at a problem and have overall better talent. BUT they don't condone losing AT ALL. Maybe there are times when there is NOTHING you can do, but they make sure to speak up and call it anyone/everyone regardless of their position on the team.

Not that ranting and raving will turn this team completely around, BUT it would be nice if someone at least showed that they cared.

Going to open gym at UC has been way too much fun. Spent a lot of time tonight talking to UC great Melvin Levitt. Good stuff... :D

Not that anyone needs to be reminded how truly awful this team is, here are some FUN stats.

Reds were 8-6 on April 15th.

They are now 18-30 on May 25th.

Reds are just 14-9 when scoring more than 5 runs.

Reds are 7-16 in games decided by 2 runs or less.

The Reds are 18-30 on May 24, 10.5 GB

On past May 24ths

2006 - 27-20, 4 GB

2005 - 17-28, 12 GB

2004 - 26-18, 1st place

2003 - 24-25, 3 GB

2002 - 28-20, 1st place

2001 - 19-27, 7.5 GB

2000 - 26-20, 1.5 GB

It's actually a status quo start for the Red Legs when you look at past history.
