May 24, 200719 yr Author Enrique Cruz cleared waivers and opened a spot on the 40 man roster. Guess who's not yet on the 40 man...
May 24, 200719 yr I think with Stanton's time served in the majors, the only option they would have would be waivers or outright release. Not seeing a negative to this plan.
May 24, 200719 yr OK, who's ready for today's edition of "Baaaaad Baseball?!?!?!" :irked: Tonight's lineup: Freel cf Gonzalez ss Griffey rf Phillips 2b Conine 1b Dunn lf Encarnacion 3b Ross c Belisle p

You're manager doesn't know how to write a lineup card??? He should be 4th or 5th in the lineup IMO. This thing about not having two lefties back to back is ridicolous.
May 24, 200719 yr I posted this info also in the Ken Griffey thread, figured I would also share it here. Bench hit 389 with 1376 RBI Robinson 324 with 1009 RBI Perez 287 with 1192 RBI Kluszewski 251 with 886 RBI Foster 244 with 861 RBI Dunn 209 with 492 RBI How stunning of a stat is that on Dunn's RBI total. Guess the other guys knew how to drive in runs NOT just with the long.

Yeah, I don't think he should be 4th or 5th, given his Kingman-like inability to drive in runs at a reasonable rate. I'm sorry, but if you are a "slugger," as Dunn allegedly is, you should be driving in a minimum of 3X the number of runs as HRs. And Dmitri Young continues the trend of former Reds killing the ball whenever they come back to town. Great start.
May 24, 200719 yr I don't understand this move, unless they are going to trade Stanton or let him go and they needed to bring Majewski up as soon as possible, I really do not understand this move.
May 24, 200719 yr Two observations: Kearns will probably go on the DL soon with a wrist injury after that catch. What in the Sam Hill is Griffey doing with a bunt attempt with two outs?
May 24, 200719 yr Did Kearns ever do that with the Reds??? lol My goodness and yep, his wrist look like it bent in the wrong direction.

Um, because he's the single biggest reason behind the Reds repeatedly blowing up in the 8th inning. He needs the time in L'ville to get more confidence in his off-speed stuff. This is a very good move.
May 24, 200719 yr He isn't doing any good for the team right now, does need a confidence boost and maybe he can get some of it back in Triple A.

You don't understand the move?? Have you even watched Coffey pitch this year? I don't see how you could have, and not understand the move.
